What is the best tooth replacement long term option?

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I wonder if you could advise me please? I had a denture fitted 9yrs ago(upper front tooth) as I am absolutely terrified of the dentist and was offered this rather than root treatment. My dentist has now retired and I had an initial examination with a new dentist today. We discussed how unhappy I am with my discoloured teeth and as the dentist described: my patchwork fillings. He has recommended I opt for 4 crowns and a bridge to replace my denture. Or alternatively a dental implant and crowns. I am on quite a tight budget and want to get the best longterm value, however I would also like to be out of the dental chair asap as I am absolutely terrified! I would appreciate you opinion. Thanks,

Q.
I have had a bridge for several years and recently I had to have it replaced with a denture ,My dentist said that the teeth the bridge was attached too was no longer secure I now have a denture in place of my four front teeth which I hate. My question is would it still be possible to have dental implants?? or have my gums at the front shrunk back too far to have this procedure.,

Can I get insurance for dental implants?

Monday, January 25th, 2010
Q.
in June this year i was playing cricket and had my two front teeth knocked out, i am 29 years old and my dentist gave me options on what he could do for my teeth, i decided to have dental implants which as you are aware are very expensive and i had to pay some money out my own pocket. I play alot of sports and i have tried to find an insurance company that will cover my implants and teeth in case of future injury. I would very much appreciate your help on this matter.,

Are dental implants a possiblity if gum disease is sorted?

Monday, January 25th, 2010
Q.
hi i have suffered with bone loss through gum disease since i was in my thirties. i am now 43 and the appearance of my teeth do bother me, although i have not yet lost any teeth.why can,t bone be grafted before losing the teeth ? what , if any reasons, would prevent me from having successful implants in the future, and could i begin with my dental implants before the teeth look any worse ? lastly, how many implants are needed to replace 20 teeth, and what would they cost , including bone grafting ? i am grateful for any advice as this problem is affecting me greatly yours gratefully sandy,

Q.
Dear Dr Moore I am a 28 year old female and have become quite depressed at the state my teeth are in at such a yougish age. I have always looked after my teeth but always seemed to have fillings, root canals, nerves remove etc everytime i visitied the dentist. I had a fixed brace when i was young and had 4 permanent molars removed since then my remaining molars have taken a beatin and I have just now had 3 roots removed from another set of molars due to the tooth dying or a crown continuosly coming out resulting in a broken tooth. as it stands i now have only 21 teeth remaining!! my concern is will my dentist recommend implants? as im starting to wonder how on earth ill chew food! all my front top and bottom teeth are intact. I am a single mum doing my nursing degree so I have a NHS excemption certificate but can I still have implants fitted?? many thanks,
