Are dental implants a possiblity if gum disease is sorted?

Q. hi i have suffered with bone loss through gum disease since i was in my thirties. i am now 43 and the appearance of my teeth do bother me, although i have not yet lost any teeth.why can,t bone be grafted before losing the teeth ? what , if any reasons, would prevent me from having successful implants in the future, and could i begin with my dental implants before the teeth look any worse ? lastly, how many implants are needed to replace 20 teeth, and what would they cost , including bone grafting ? i am grateful for any advice as this problem is affecting me greatly yours gratefully sandy,
A. Broadly speaking you need to have your gum disease treated before you can have implants.  The treatment can be sequenced so that you always have teeth.  The cost varies greatly so I am unable to give you costs but the options vary from dentures attached to the implants to permanently fitted bridges
