can lumineers cause smelly gums halitosis and gum disease is this true? how can i prevent it?

Q.
I have been using Crest Pro-Health mouthwash for a month. I have noticed bad brown stains on my teeth. Yesterday, I had Lumineers placed on top of my stained teeth, not realizing that Crest Pro-health was causing this problem until I read a blog of others having the same problem. I have also used this mouthwash, today, the day after getting my Lumineers. Is it going to stain the Lumineers,or is it okay to use with the lumineers? My concern is, since I have gotten Lumineers placed on top of the brown teeth instead of getting the stains removed first, will my real teeth become damaged underneath. What do you suggest I do? Also, please tell me how does the natural teeth underneath the lumineers stay healthy? I have been reading horror stories that Lumineers can cause smelly gums, halitosis, and gum disease…Is this true? How can you prevent these problems if you now have lumineers?

Is it possible to fully close the gap in my front teeth and what are my options to fix it?

Friday, May 15th, 2009
Q.
Hello. I’m 20 years old and unfortunately have a large gap in between my two upper front teeth. The space is roughly 8mm in width so you can imagine my insecurities. I was wondering if it’s possible to FULLY close a gap that size and what my options are in fixing this problem. Thank you 🙂

is there a procedure which can push the whole row of teeth forward and to give a bigger smile

Friday, May 15th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Patel I am a 26 year old male and as a child i had quite a lot of orthodontic work, although my teeth are healthy and relatively straight now my concern is that my smile is very small if that makes sense. By this i mean that when i talk or give a small smile my teeth arent really visable. An attractive smile to me is one where you can see lots of (straight) teeth. My question is, is there a procedure which can push the whole row of teeth forward and out to give a bigger smile? And if so what would the procedure involve i.e braces, veneers, surgery etc (obviously the less invasive the more appealing? Many thanks

i just want to get rid of the dull yellow coloured teeth is vineers a good option?

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
Q.
Hello. From an early age, I have had discoloured teeth and I’m at the stage where I’m tired of not being able to smile with confidence like everyone else. I have tried various teeth whitening products such as Crest white strips and even Laser tooth whitening which did bring my teeth up a few shades but not to my satisfaction. I would like to know what you think I should do next? I don’t want to spend more money on products or services that simply don’t work or achieve a decent level of whiteness. I am not looking for Simon Cowell teeth, I just wan’t to get rid of this dull, yellow-coloured look. I was thinking of trying Vineers. (I’m 22 by the way). Do you think Vineers would be the best option? One last question, do you know of a good place I could get that done? I’m not rich but I don’t want to pay for shoddy work either so I’m willing to spend a bit to achieve my goal. Thanks in advance!

i now have a crooked discoloured teeth is veneers an option for me?

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
Q.
I suffered a miscarriage (on my wedding day!) and whilst in hospital fainted on the ward landing on my front top teeth (!). My top front left tooth was displaced (to a 45 degree angle) and the others went through my bottom lip. The top front right tooth moved sideways. The top left tooth was pushed back into place but the right one left how it was. A brace was secured over them for a week. This has since been removed and the hospital have discharged me advising me to seek a dentist. I have sought a dentists advice who has said both teeth are dead and i need root canal treatment. However, she also said the wonky tooth cannot be repositioned and a brace will not fix it. I did have very straight white teeth and I am absolutley distraught that I now have crooked discoloured teeth. Surely this can be sorted out? My teeth positioning has affected my speech and I cannot return to work as a Police officer incase of furthur injury & no-one can understand me anymore! Rreally I am after some sort of second opinion albeit over the internet. Would veneers be an option or anything else come to that? My dentist is private and after a wedding this month (and moving house) funds are a little tight. Thankyou in advance, regards

Q.
Hi, I have 2 white fillings one to each side to my 2 front main teeth. One is quite discoloured and my dentist is reluctant to replace as says each time more of the tooth will need to be removed. As I cannot have them whitened can I have veneers and if so which type would be best.

I have a misplaced canine are there any other options for me other than a brace?

Monday, May 11th, 2009
Q.
Hi When I was 18 (I’m now 24)one of my canine teeth began to come through in the middle of the roof of my mouth. Since then it has moved forward greatly and now sits behind the milk tooth it was meant to replace. It is now at an angle which I believe is because it cannot move any further forward due to my lower teeth obstructing it when my mouth is closed. I know I should do something about it although it isn’t really causing me any problems because eventually my milk tooth will wall out, however I’m very reluctant to get a brace as I work in the fashion industry. A dentist once suggested it might be a possibility to file the adult tooth down and fix a cap/veneer in order to make it inline with my other teeth. Do you think this is possible or are there any other options for me other than a brace? Thanks very much for your help

I was wondering if i had treatment done in my teeth how much it would cost me?

Saturday, May 9th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I was just wondering if i had treatment done, how much it would cost. I have been bullied about my teeth through school and was forced to move as it became unbearable. i have always wanted to do something about them. I have a gap betwwen my front two teeth and have what i call ‘vampire teeth’ on either side of the top of my mouth. I am still a student studying at college and don’t live at home so therefore i don’t have much money, however i am willing to save if i know i will one day be happy when i look in the mirror, would it be possible if you could tell me roughly how much it would cost.
