my husband has brown teeth caused by fluoride would whitening be an alternative to veneers

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
My husband had brown teeth possibly caused by fluoride or other treatments in the water which are added to make salt water drinkable. When he was 20 he saw a dentist and had his teeth whitened. This lasted 1 or 2 years then his teeth became more stained than previously. He is now 29 and very unhappy with his teeth. Our local dentist has sugested porcelain veneers to the upper 8 and lower 8 teeth at a cost of £3200. My concern is the cost and that they only last 5-10 years. Is there any way to undo the damage caused to his teeth? If he drinks fresh water for a number of years will this make any difference? What if he returned abroad would his teeth get worse? Would whitening be an alternative to veneers. Is it normal for whitened teeth to become worse than they were originally within 2 years? What treatment would you recommend? Thanks

my front tooth is twisted a bit would it be possible to only have 1 veneers

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
My teeth are in pretty good condition. I have no fillings and they are quite white. My only problem is my front tooth is twisted and so from the side, when i smile, my tooth looks pointed. I really want to get this corrected. Having researched a little into it i fear it may be really expensive. Would it be possible to only have 1 veneer, i dont want it to look odd against my other teeth, and how much would only 1 cost? Also how much would braces cost? as i dont think, in my case, it should take too long to correct. Thanks

is are veneers hard wearing and once fitted whats the likelihood of them coming loose

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi I am considering booking myself in at Kissdental to sort my smile out, my 2 front teeth over lap, so the left one crosses over the right one, and they are generally not 100% straight uneven, and chipped at the bottom slightly. I really want veneers, but am scared at the thought of paying lots of money to have them fitted, & then going home eating an apple and then one of them falling out leaving me looking daft with a filed tooth showing… so my question is are veneers as hard wearing as your normal teeth and once fitted whats the likelihood of them coming loose etc etc, if they did would I be covered to come in and have it refitted or is this at an extra cost?? also do Kiss Dental offer a finance option? many thanks for your time. Kind regards

I veneers was fitted 5 days ago and my tooth is now quite sore and sensitive is it normal?

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi, My front tooth was knocked out when I fell over a few years ago but i managed to push it back into place with my tongue. After that happened i got root canal treatment on that tooth. Over the years the tooth had become discoloured so I decided to get a veneer. The veneer was fitted 5 days ago and my tooth is now quite sore and sensitive. Is this normal? Do I need to get the root canal checked? Please help.

Would veneers be insufficient because of gum line areas of decay on the back of the teeth?

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have 4 upper front teeth, candidates for crowns or veneers. I’d prefer to leave as much tooth structure as possible, leaning me toward veneers, but conditions primarily the location of the decay, may necessitate crowns.#8 is only slightly chipped, but between the 2 front teeth, 8 and 9,there is a cavity/filling right at the gum line and a slight gap between the teeth. Because of the location the filling keeps falling out and eventually the gap becomes evident from the front. There’s also a filling on #10 almost at the gum line. Would veneers be insufficient because of these gum line-areas of decay on the back of the teeth?
