Can i replace my veneers for one that is in a correct shape and alignment

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr, I hope u might be able to advise me. I have recently had my porcelain veneers repalced for new ones as I wanted to upgrade them for whiter ones for my wedding. I asked the dentist to copy the shape and size exactly of my previous ones as it is only the colour I wanted to improve. I am now very disappointed and upset as, although the new veneers are a lovely colour, one of the central incisors is shorter and a different shape to the one beside it. They just dont match and it looks odd. It is also more protruding than the one next to it, whereas previously the veneers (and temps) were perfectly straight. Can this one veneer be replaced for one that is a correct shape and alignment, so that it matches the others? Or will it look odd just changing one? I am a very nervous dental patient and dont know if I could cope with having them all prepared again. Please help. Thank you

Is it a drastic step to get rid of 6 veneers and replace with crowns

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Dear doctor, I have tetracycline staining of my teeth for which I got veneers for the upper front 6 teeth (incisors & canines ect.) 4 years ago. My teeth are also big and crowded. Now its time to change the veneers as they are getting yellow. I have been told that the only way to improve my smile is crowns (not veneers)and I feel it is a bit of a drastic step to get rid of 6 normal functioning teeth and get crowns instead. What is your opinion regarding this? I am sorry to ask a difficult question especially when you have not seen my teeth. Thanks!

I want to replace me old veneers what is the cost of veneers

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi there i have been to me dentist today regarding replacing 2 veneers on my front 2 teeth that have been in place for 16 years- they are a bit yellow now and when i have rest of teeth whitened the front 2 stay same colour. my question is how much should i expect to pay for 2 new veneers and how many visits should it take to the dentist- also will the old ones have to come off and if so is that going to be really painful and cause damage to the tooth underneath? Thanks

Im 11 and is way for me to get a new veneers on my two front teeth

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi,im 19 years old and since i was 11 i have had veneers on my two front teeth to hide discolouration from flurosis. The veneers were free on the NHS but i dont think they are very good quality at all. They have cracked a number of times over the years and my right one has chipped recently but now i am 19 i have to pay for the veneers which are £500 each so i defianantly cant afford them while i am at university. The veneers also look to big for my mouth and are generally unattractive looking. Is there any other options then having to wait until i am older to get new veneers? they make me feel self-concious about my smile but i cant have them removed as my teeth have been filed down and are still a bit stained. Do you have any advice? Thanks,

Would you be able to tell me about the fixed wire retainers

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
To Dr Kailesh Solanki, I’ve had a really big gap through my two front teeth since i was born. I got braces in 2007 and then had the skin cut above my gums as it was tight and pulling my teeth apart, however, once i got my braces off the gap opened immediately..i had a retainer which failed to work I now have braces again, and the gap is completely closed, my orthodontist told me once the brace is taken off i will have a wire inserted into the back of my mouth so my gap will remained closed..and that i have to have this wire in my mouth forever. Would you be able to tell me anything about this fixed wire? I am also interested in getting porclein veneers as im tired of my mouth being pulled about every month. Would you reccomend veneers? Many thanks for your time,
