Is braces the only way to pull the tooth down into the arch?

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi,I am attending orthodontic hospital to have a brace fitted due to my upper right canine tooth growing above my “baby” one.Had the baby one removed last year to try and give room but new one is still quite high and squint. I am 36 years old. I have been told I would need a brace and am apprehensive because of my age and also I have an allergy to nickel.I told them this and they explained that there is only a small amount of nickelThey said there is a plastic something they could try but it would complicate matters!!Can you explain? Is this my only answer- a brace and how long would I need to have the traintrack for? Thanks

I had a check up in March and told my dentist about my top and bottom teeth not being aligned anymore, I also have jaw problems, loud clicking and pain, he said he didn’t know how this has happened. After reading about TMJ disorder I believe this is what I have, should I go back to my dentist with the information I have recently found? Thanks

My top central incisors are rotated inward would invisalign be an option

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
My top 2 central incisors are severely rotated inwards by at least 40 degrees. The rest of my teeth are aligned. What would be my best option to correct only these 2 teeth? Would invisalign work on such a severity or am I better off with cosmetic dentistry? Please advise me on what route to take?

My teeth are very unattractive so would invisible braces or veneers be an options?

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i have hated my teeth all my life and they have always been a problem. I have had two braces (first a retainer then a ‘train track’ brace) my teeth were intially straight whenthe brace first came off but the two they had brought forward had a lot lower gums than the rest which looked very unattractive, i was told that in time the gums would move themselves up. well 5 years later im nearly back to square one the gums have not moved and my teeth have moved back. i would like to know what i can do to gain a nice smile i saw veneers would not be the solution but i feel i deserve a nice ‘hollywood’ looking smile after all ive gone through. would an invisible brace then veneers be an option?

My front two teeth are more prominent than the other what are my options

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hello i have a problem with one of my two front teeth, which is more prominent than the first, the problem for me is simply cosmetic, its very noticable when i smile as a have a broad smile and this particular tooth is noticably more orward than the other, i have also noticed that over the past year or so it seems to be moving more forward is there a possibility to aline so to spek this tooth, or to set straight both of the front teeth? i am 33 years old at present and im certain that this tooth is going to become more and more prominent than the rest of my teeth thank you, i look forward to your reply

Would the fitting of a damon brace interfere with the perfect bite?

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009
Q.
I have read about Damon Braces in the USA and have seen good results, my lower teeth are straight, I have never required any dental work, just reg. check ups, and oral hygenist visits. However I do have a front teeth overlapping problem, the two teeth both sides of the main incisors, have been told by my dentist in Australia that I have a perfect bite. 1.Would the fitting of a Damon brace interfere with the perfect bite. 2.Would the fitting of a Damon brace to my upper teeth, require a brace on my lower teeth?

Is the six months smiles a good treatment for mild crowding

Monday, August 10th, 2009
Q.
Hello, i am interested in the six month braces, but have a few questions i have mild crowding in my upper front teeth and my bottom two front teeth overlap by about 2mm so one of them is at a slight angle behind the other the rest of my bottom teeth have just mild crowding with no rotation, my bite is also good, i understand that without photo’s and xrays you can not give me a definitive answer as to if i would be suitable for this type of ortho, but do you think i may be able to have this treatment.I live in the midlands and would be interested in coming to your practice for an assesment, in your opinion is the six month ortho a good solid treatment because i can’t find as much info on it as other treatments and does it really average just six months to complete. Thanks in advance.
