My front teeth are slightly overlaps should i go for veneer or to get braces

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr, My front 4 teeth slightly overlap and have holes in the middle, one tooth is slightly chipped. I would love to have perfectly straight teeth without the holes and chips. I asked my dentist and she said I would need 4 Veneers but I also could go to an orthodontist to get these teeth straightened and then filling them would be no problem and it might be better. I’m not sure what is the best thing to do – get braces and then end up getting veneers also, taking more time and money or just getting veneers now to solve all my problems but in the long run what would the benefits be am I better to try to preserve my natural teeth as long as possible? Also my daugther is 10 and her teeth are very crooked bottom and top. She still has some baby teeht and her eye teeth have not come down yet – is it too early to start orthodontic treatment?

Ive have pain in my jaw which runs down to my neck how can i get it sorted

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
Dr Solanki I am a 23 year old female and my teeth have always been very weak. I havent been to a dentist for years because i am so nervous about the outcome. I am at the stage now where I feel the dentist would have some very bad news for me. Four of my back teeth are missing yet only partly and my gums are now VERY painful and distorted. I have pain in my jaw which runs down to my neck and I am very worried about this. I want so desperately to get this all sorted but as i mentioned before they anxiety of horrible news has stopped me. Kind regards

Ive braces and i would like to how long it take to close the gaps

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
Four teeth(two from the top, two of bottom) have been removed as part of the dental braces treatment.Bottom right, the gap has been filled. But the left bottom, and the top right & left gaps doesn’t seem to make much difference. It has been about a year into the treatment. I would like to know how much time it would take for the gaps to close. thanks

My permanent canine tooth is firmly embedded in the gums how can i fix it?

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I’m having a cosmetic issue- I still have one of my canine baby teeth which remains fairly strong and hasnt fallen off. It’s presence had prevented the earlier tooth (2nd from the front)from properly aligning into position, hence it remains slightly projected outward at an angle. My dentist says the xray of my gums show that the permanent canine tooth that was supposed to come down is firmly embedded in the gums above and is never going to pose a problem for me. However I’m very unhappy and self conscious of my smile and would like to know what I can do to have that dream smile..

My teeth are starting to show gaps and little discoloured. how can i fix it?

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have had bulima on and off since I was 15 years old, I’m now 31. My last appointment at the dentists was in Spain where they told me (after x-rays) that I had a hereditory disease which meant that the bones of my jaw would reduce over time. My teeth are starting to show gaps and are becoming a little discouloured. How can I fix all this.. or do I just lose my teeth over time? Kind Regards

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have always been very consious of my teeth every time i smile of evern speak. I have a few small gaps – which to me seem huge and a couple of teeth that stick out. I have always dreampt of having a smile to be proud of. I’m just wondering, as i am a single mother on benefits how would i be able to afford to get my teeth sorted out and corrected if i chose to do so in the future???? How much would it cost me? Straightning, reconstructing some and generally getting a perfect smile to make me feel confident?
