Hi I’m 16 I was just wondering if I could get veneers on the nhs with my current dentist, as I have two small lateral incisors and it really lowers my self confidence at school, I feel like I can’t smile with my teeth showing it really gets me down. I would appreciate it if you could tell me what I could do as my current dentist seems to avoid the topic whenever I ask him. If there are affordable payment plans then I wouldn’t mind.

Could I change from an NHS dentist to a private dentist?
Monday, March 21st, 2011I have two false teeth in the front, one of which is recent, the tooth to the left side has had a root canal and has gone black and it looks awful. The corner of the tooth has just broken off, and i will now need it seeing to. I was told that it would have to be filed down to a peg and a crown added which would cost £300 this is with a private dentist, i was seeing, the cost of my last lot of treatment has been high and i just cant afford to pay private. Could i change to a nhs dentist while still on the books at the private one? I am a very nervous person when it comes to dentists and it took me so long to go, i started to cry just filling in forms. Is there any way that the old filling can be taken out and a white one put in and the tooth be built up on the corner? Thank you for giving this matter your attention.

Can I get Dental Implants on the NHS?
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011Hi Andrew, I unfortunately had to have my second to front tooth removed in June last year as it had fractured and was not considered suitable to save. I wanted to have an implant immediately, but after xrays ti was found that I did not to have sufficient bone in the upper part of my gum to do this. I was advised to wait at least 6 – 12 months before proceeding. During this time I have been wearing a plate with a false tooth. This is very uncomfortable and despite using a fixitive it moves and irritates my palette, causing discomfort. I have had enough and really want an implant to give me back some confidence. I have no idea how i fractured my tooth in the first place, but it was covered with a veneeer, and i wondereed if this could have caused the fracture by weakening the tooth? I want the implant desperately but the cost is a huge factor, having already spent £2’500 on 4 veneers in the last few years I cannot afford to spend more! Could I get it done on the NHS as it is a visable tooth and is negatively affecting my self esteem?
