I need my decayed front and wisdom teeth replaced with implants, what is the cost?

Monday, May 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hi Rob,

Last year i had an accident and lost one of my front teeth completely and had the other snapped in half.
I have begun treatment and have since had root canal treatment in the snapped tooth, which has since grayed.

I have been wearing a denture for the last 12 months, but have always had the intention of implants.
I also have very decayed wisdom teeth and am in no doubt that they need pulling.

Firstly I would like to know if my wisdom teeth would hinder any treatments in the front of my mouth?

Secondly would a crown would be suitable for my snapped tooth with it being grey and having undergone root canal? (this would be to go along side an implant for the missing tooth)

And also, I am currently a NHS patient. Other than the obvious cost of the implant, can any of the cosmetic treatment i may be offered be covered by the NHS?

Thank you

Hello doctor ,when I was a teenager I had a brase for a very long time, then I had an operation to correct my jaw and shorten my top gum I then had a cage like frame on my face.when the treatment was complete the cage and brace was removed,my teeth were straight and my face looked better.Problems started a few years later there is a gap between my teeth again, all my front teeth dont touch and my front teeth are now completely out of line from time to time I experience pain and the feeling that I can feel my teeth moving. I dont understand why this has happened I cannot afford private treatment I dont know what to do. thank you for your time

Are cosmetic dental treatments available on the NHS?

Q.

am i able to get my teeth fixed back up cosmetically on the nhs?
i have always taken good care of my teeth and used to have a perfect set of teeth with a great smile but i ended up having to be on medication long term and this has damaged my teeth to the point of beyond repair so in order to restore them and give me back my confidence would i be eligable to have them done on the nhs as i am unemployed.and i don’t have a dentist of my own as none are willing to take nhs patients on,i now hav’nt had a dentist for 6years and i can’t find one now either.i am extremerly desperate to get them sorted as i dont smile anymore as my confidence has gone and also they need sorting for general health/dental reasons as they are all just crumbling and falling apart and i am in pain with them too.if it came to the crunch would i be able to just have them all removed and get dentures?
thanks .

Help teeth driving me crazy and I get frequent tooth infections. What can be done?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi,

I have on-going problems with my teeth, resulting in fairly frequent tooth infections. I’m 27 and so far had 3 wisdom teeth extracted and 2 or 3 others due to poor prognosis.
My teeth are a horrid yellow colour, I have one false tooth which I don’t like, various ones that are chipped, breaking down and one with a hole in i. I would like to know my options on getting them sorted. I have been told by my dentist that I have weak enammel due to my asthma and for this reason wouldn’t be able to get them whitened, are veeners my only option and would I be able to get any help from the NHS?
Thanks for you time Dr Mark Hughes. I hope you find the time in your busy schedule to help me with this. Warmest regards.. 🙂

I can’t cope with my new dentures but I still need bottom teeth sorted. Can NHS not help me?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. After eight months i am still unable to get used to my upper dentures. I also still need my bottom ones done. I am feeling pressure from my dentist to have the bottom set done even though i am finding i can not cope with my top set. I have lost two stone in weight and now have a new found fear of food. The best he has offered me is denture implants for my top set at a price of £3.500 but i really can not afford this, however i feel i really can not go on with these dentures, and the thought of having to have my bottom set removed petrifies me as i suffer from what you call dental phobia .. to what is an extreme level. My life is ‘hell’ so is there really no chance of help on the NHS?

New veneer is wrong colour compared to existing veneers. Can I get this put right?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
Q.

Hi I have four veneers, my front teeth and either side. I had one replaced a few months ago on the nhs because it had been shattered in an accident. the result is a tooth that is a different shade, a different size and a tooth that doesn’t have a glaze like the other veneers. It’s cost me £200 and made me really unhappy about my smile. I’d be happy to pay out and have them put right, but how would I choose the right dentist for the job?? I’ve lost all confidence in mine.
