My Bottom Tooth Is Slightly Further Back Than The Rest Of My Teeth. Is There Anything That Can Move This Forward?

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014
Q.

My bottom front tooth is slightly further back than the rest of my teeth and I was wondering if there is and procedure or technique that can be used to push it forward? I would rather not have braces as it’s only one tooth that needs to move and I am very happy with the rest of my teeth; although one of my top front teeth slightly overlaps the other. My top teeth really don’t bother me as much as the bottom one. I’m 21 and would like the least painful most cost effective treatment possible. Would a spring retainer be useful in this situation?

Hi Mark. I Used To Wear Braces But Now My Teeth Are Slipping Back. Would Using Invisalign To Correct This Be Wise?

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I had braces for over 3 years between the ages of 12-15, I struggled to wear my retainer as I should of and as a result, my lateral incisor has started to slip back and regress behind my front teeth. I am now 23 and 3 years ago I decided to get he a direct composite applied to it in order to ‘build up’ the tooth to be in line with my existing teeth. My question is how long does this composite usually last and should I think about getting it replaced? I think the tooth is still regressing and my overbite is more prominent as well, would thinking of getting braces like Invisalign be wise?

This Might Be A Silly Question. Is It Still Possible To Kiss With Braces On Without Being Sore? My Partner Needs Braces.

Thursday, August 28th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Patel. This may be a silly question, but my partner is considering teeth straightening. Is it possible to still kiss with braces? Or is it difficult, dribbly and/or sore?

Partner is 57. I reckon he also has a high and narrow roof of mouth. He has some white filling on front of teeth, wants it done as quickly as possible. Do you have any idea which brace could work well for him? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

I Have A Hard Time Opening Up My Mouth To Smile As I Have An Overbite. What Can I Do To Fix?

Monday, August 11th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I’ve always been annoyed by my smile. Sometimes I have hard time opening my mouth to smile because I have two front teeth that stick out in addition to having a gap in between them. What can I do?
My teeth on the lower jaw are also yellowish and some small holes have started appearing. But this doesn’t annoy me as much as having a large gap in my teeth. I am now 20 years old and my parents didn’t care much about that so that’s why they didn’t find me braces. I am really eager to know what doctors recommend for me. I wish to have a beautiful smile and so be confident.

I Would Like To Know If I Am A Suitable Candidate For Invisible Aligners Or Other Clear Aligner Treatment?

Wednesday, August 6th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I am wondering if I would be a suitable candidate for Invisible aligners or other clear aligner treatment? I have a moderate over-bite, with the top middle two teeth jutting out slightly further than the next two teeth. There is some over-crowding in the top too, with the teeth next to the top middle ones sitting slightly behind them. At the moment I have temporary veneers on these two teeth to bring them into line (the dentist I was seeing didn’t prep the teeth and put permanent veneers on as I was still considering orthodontic work). However, I don’t like the look of the veneers compared to my own teeth. I would be happy with veneers if they looked more like my own teeth, which are slightly transparent and have texture. Whereas the veneers look a bit dead to me, plastic looking. I had the bottom teeth straightened in my 20s and still have the glued in retainer. Now that I’m older I don’t want to have visible regular braces. I’d be grateful for your advice.

Kind regards.

My Front Two Teeth Come Out Slightly From The Rest Of My Teeth. Are There Any Braces Which Fix With The Front Teeth Only?

Friday, August 1st, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes. I am enquiring about my two front teeth. The issue is that they come slightly forward to the rest of my teeth which gives me a self-conscious smile. I am 20 years old and the older I get the worse I feel about this situation. Is there any sort of brace just for the front teeth rather than the whole mouth? And if so what are you charges? Do you have several clinics or just the 1? I would also love to know more about teeth whitening.

Regards.

Is It Possible To Pay For Invisalign Treatment Over Instalments? My Smile Is Overcrowded And Crooked.

Tuesday, July 29th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have pretty bad crooked teeth and I feel invisalign is a good choice to sort them out. The cost is a bit dear for me. Is it possible to pay in instalments over a period of time? Where could I go to arrange an appointment to get invisalign and how much is it for an appointment? Would I have to pay just for a first time check up? My teeth are over crowded and crooked, it’s not so much the bottom teeth it’s the top, the front 6 teeth and the front 2 are leaning towards the left. Also the 2 small teeth on each side aren’t straight and one is fully turned at a 90 degree angle. The 2 beside them are towards the top of my gums like fangs. Please help me on this. I dislike my teeth and avoid smiling due to how they look and need expert opinions and guidance.

I Need To Have The Gap Between My Front Teeth Closed. Would Invisalign Clear Aligners Work For This?

Thursday, July 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark, I am 20 years old and I have a gap in my front teeth. How long would it take to close this and what would the prices come to? I’ve had several appointments with dentists and they all say with time the gap will come together but it never does I feel really conscious because of it and I hate smiling or even talking to people. Working as a promotions seller I need to have a good smile which I definitely don’t because of the gap.
I am undecided on this treatment and mostly on the Invisalign aligners. Can you tell me the difference and which would be better and cost effective?

10 Years Ago I Had A Full Brace When I Was Younger But As Soon As I Had Them Removed They Started Moving. What Are My Options?

Friday, July 18th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark,

I am looking to get my teeth fixed, I had a full brace when I was younger but as soon as I had them removed they started moving, my dentist said they would move back. Now it’s 10 years later and I still have one front tooth that sticks out and it makes me really unhappy.

My problem has always been that I haven’t had enough space for my teeth, which is what has happened.

What are my options? I would like to have straight teeth again and hopefully avoiding a full metal brace. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.

My Teeth Seem To Be Moving And I Want To Have Veneers. I Researched Loads But Haven’t Ever Found An Accurate Price. Could You Tell Me?

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I’ve had a lot of trouble with my teeth in the past and I’ve had corrective treatment. I turned down braces due to a metal phobia and at the time (I was 16) my parents could not afford the invisalign braces. I’m now 18 and as the dentist warned me that my teeth would move (this is due to having my 2 fangs out as they grew in front of my teeth with two flat ones behind them. I really want veneers and the question is how much does it cost per tooth. I’ve researched loads but haven’t ever found an accurate price!
