Hi there, I am 19 years old and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get straighter teeth?
I have an over-bite and my front teeth over lap each other. I would like to avoid braces at all costs, Mostly because I’ve heard that they take like 4 years to straighten? Is there anyway I can do this without braces? I don’t want to look like a 12 year old. Please let me know if there is any other options? I am desperate! Thank you for your time.

I Have An Overbite And My Teeth Overlap. I Want Straighter Teeth Without Looking Like A 12 Year Old. What Can I Do?
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014Can Fixed Braces Be Attached To Porcelain Veneers? Replacing The Veneers Would Cost Too Much.
Friday, May 23rd, 2014Hi Mark. I have four porcelain veneers on my upper front teeth. Due to gum disease my upper right lateral incisor is moving my central incisor forward. I am hoping orthodontics treatment will help. I am interested in the six month smile fixed brace over Invisalign as it’s less complicated to manage daily. My only concern is whether fixed braces can be attached to porcelain veneers because the cost of replacing veneers is £800 each. This is more than the cost of the fixed brace treatment! Please could you help with this query; can fixed braces be attached to porcelain veneers without damaging them? I thank you in advance.
Which Brace Type Would You Recommend? Invisalign Or The British Version C-Thru?
Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 Hi Andrew. Which is the recommended procedure? Invisalign or the British alternative c-thru? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? My teeth are not very badly distorted and both have been recommended. The c-thru is supposed to be cheaper slightly but does that affect the end result? What procedure is more efficient and easier to maintain long term and how would this be achieved in both cases? Could you tell me what procedure you would recommend personally? I am a 40 year old female.
Thank you and regards.

My Daughter Is Allergic To The Metal In Fixed Braces. Is There Any Other Brace Type She Can Wear?
Thursday, May 8th, 2014Hi Andrew. My daughter has significant gap between her front upper and lower teeth. She has had a separator and started the process of braces only to discover she is allergic to the metal. Our orthodontist has said that there are no options other than plastic, that some parts have to be metal. Do you have any any suggestions please, she wants her to take prednisone to suppress her reaction and I am worried about that as an option? She has said some parts can be ceramic but the back parts that anchor the braces have to be made of metal. Thank you for your time.
I Have Multiple Diastema And I Don’t Like The Spaces In Between My Teeth. Is There Any Other Treatment Than Braces To Fix This?
Wednesday, May 7th, 2014Hello Dr Hughes. I hope you can help me. I have a problem with my teeth that they have some protrusion and multiple diastema. I am not annoyed about the protrusion but I don’t like the spaces so I had them treated with composite veneers 7 years ago and now my composite veneers have turned yellow. I know I need orthodontic treatment but I am anxious about all braces. What are my other alternatives? I have a video for the case if I can send it? I am 28 years old. Thank you in advance for your reply.
I Am Unhappy With My Four Front Teeth. Should I Go For Invisalign Or Veneers?
Wednesday, May 7th, 2014Hi Dr Moore. I am unhappy about my front upper 4 teeth and for many years I have felt insecure about myself. I wanted to get veneers done simply because they seem cheaper and correction allows for quicker results. However a dentist has advised me to go for Invisalign. He said as my teeth were in good condition and not as bad as I think it would be better as I am only upset with their positioning. The dentist said it would take 6 months to complete the course and cost around £1400. Please can you advise if I have received good advice? How would I know if I am in good hands and paying the right price? Many thanks (36 years old).
I’d Like To Straighten My Incisors. I Am Investigating Invisalign But I’d Like A Cheaper, Faster Alternative?
Monday, April 7th, 2014 Hello Dr Patel, I’d like your advice. Both my upper lateral incisors are set back about 0.5cm behind my front teeth. One sits on my lower incisor, the other just behind.
I had a removable brace as a teen, 10 years ago and after 2 years of diligently wearing it, I got told he may have made a mistake!
I would like to know what options I now have for correcting this? I am investigating Invisalign, but I’d like to know if there is a cheaper, faster alternative?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to your reply.
Could You Tell Me The Best Method For Stripping The Teeth, I’m Getting Invisalign And I Would Like To Know Which Way Is Safest?
Thursday, April 3rd, 2014Hi Dr Hughes. Could you tell me which method is better for teeth stripping, using a dental drill or having it done by hand with a diamond abrasive strip attached to a small piece of sheet metal? The same amount of enamel is to be stripped off my teeth, but I would like to know specifically which method will yield better results? I am trying to decide on an orthodontist to work on my teeth. I will be getting the Invisalign treatment. I look forward to your reply, thank you for your time.
