I had braces from the end of middle school to the middle of my high school years. I lost my retainer about 2 years later and just never got a new one because my teeth never moved or changed. I just turned 22 and noticed my gap in my 2 front teeth is coming back, so I went back to my orthodontist, he told me that my gap is returning and my teeth are starting to go inward and he suggested either Invisalign or a standard retainer. I am not sure which one is best, do you have any advice?

Should I Get Invisalign or a Standard Retainer?
Monday, October 17th, 2016Would the Inman Aligner Be Suitable For Me And How Much Would It Cost?
Thursday, August 13th, 2015Dear Dr Moore,
I would like to consider the Inman Aligner and have visited my local dentist to ask further about this treatment. I suffer from gingivitis and have lost a few of my back teeth due to grinding and an abscess. The front teeth are apparently healthy and I wondered if this treatment was adequate for me. Also could you please confirm the price range for such treatment (upper and lower teeth) as I have been quoted over £4000 having mild crowding on the bottom and one tooth slightly out at the top creating a gap, but the rest are aligned. Many thanks for your feedback.
There’s a Space Above My Invisalign Aligner Surface. Will it Affect My Treatment?
Friday, July 3rd, 2015I’m on Invisalign treatment now on aligner number 14 out of 48. I just discovered that my front tooth is slightly chipped, about less than 2 mm. I noticed that one of my front teeth has become smaller and checked the fitness of my aligner. There’s an obvious space above the surface. I don’t experience any pain whatsoever but I’m worried that this will this affect my treatment. If so, what do I need to be prepared for?
Is There a Quick Option to Straighten Two Teeth?
Thursday, May 21st, 2015Hello,
I have used Invisalign to align my teeth but the upper front 2 incisors are not perfectly aligned. As I do not want to have another round of Invisalign, is there another quick option just to make these 2 teeth a bit more straight? Also, could you kindly advise if Lumineers could be a solution or are they too thin? I do not want to affect the teeth so I’m not interested in veneers.
Thank you and best regards.
What Treatment Can I Have as an Alternative to Braces?
Tuesday, March 24th, 2015Dear Dr Moore,
My upper front teeth are sticking out and they make me look horrible when I laugh. At a younger age I was meant to get braces placed but it didn’t work out. I’m now 21 and I don’t want to wear braces at this point, although I wouldn’t mind getting another treatment done (if any are possible). Can you please enlighten me on what other treatment is available to stop my teeth from sticking out? Thank you.
How Long Would It Take To Get A Nice, White, Straight-Toothed-Smile? How Long Would This Take?
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014Hi there, Dr Hughes. I have horrible crooked yellow teeth. How much would it cost to get a nice, white, straight-toothed-smile? Do you have finance plans or would the fee have to be paid in one payment? What kind of time scale would something like this take from start to finish? Where is your surgery? I would be more than happy to send some pictures of my teeth if that would help with the quotation! Thank you.
I Don’t Want To Be Tormented With Wearing Fixed Braces. Are There Any Alternatives?
Tuesday, October 21st, 2014Hello,
I’m looking for treatment on my upper teeth, I have an overbite and front two teeth protruding. I was supposed to have braces when I was younger but for some reason my parents did not go through with it. I have looked up ways online and found a few sites that speak of pulling them out and grafting them back into place literally in one session but I can only find that sort of cosmetic dentistry being done in the states. My front two teeth are quite large to be honest and was wondering if its possible to have them removed and two veneers put in there place? I’m not worried about the cost I’m just worried about having to wear braces as I work on a building site and went through enough torment at school.
Would Invisalign Work on a Tooth That Sticks Out?
Monday, September 22nd, 2014Hello there Dr Gambroudes. I have three crowns on my front teeth on the top row. One of these teeth sticks out noticeably and is gradually getting worse and worse. I am extremely self conscious about the way it looks when I talk and smile. I have seen my dentist, who suggests a denture. I also have had an orthodontist referral with impressions taken of my teeth. The orthodontist seems to think train track metal braces will lead me to needing to have the crowns replaced, which puts me off that idea. Would Invisalign work for me in this
situation? Thank you, I hope you can answer me.
What are the Differences Between Clearstep and Invisalign?
Tuesday, September 16th, 2014Hello Dr Gambroudes. I was wondering if you would please give me your thoughts on the differences between Clearstep and Invisalign? From what I understand of both treatments, one is American and the other is British. I have had a consultation with a dentist who uses Clearstep, with his main reason being that he feels there is more flexibility with Clearstep in terms of being able to have moulds re-created and retainers updated if your teeth don’t move as the computer predicts, and this is not the case with Invisalign? Would you agree with this, and which do you prefer out of the two? Thank you in advance.
As A Teacher I Would Need Something Other Than Braces Treatment. Would You Recommend Tooth Trimming?
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 Hi there Dr Gambroudes,
I have front teeth which are, in my opinion, too big for my mouth. I feel that when I smile they stand out too much.
I’ve been to several dentists. Some recommended not doing anything at all while others recommended braces. I feel that having braces at my age (30) is out of the question. I’m a teacher by profession so having braces might also present obstructions in the way I speak in class. I had braces before but it seems that the adjustments weren’t thorough.
I’ve been reading up on dental procedure where teeth are trimmed to a smaller size. Do you think that would help with my problem?
Thanks.
