I had 4 crowns on my front teeth and now i am experiencing pain what procedure will be done

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I had 4 crowns on my front teeth and they are attached to each other approximately 10 years ago, with no root canals done. I was told if infection ever came about it would be bad. Now I am experiencing extreme pain and pressure on my front tooth. Have not been to dentist, but if root canal is recommended what procedures will be done, since I have the 4 crowns attached, All upper teeth are crowns and partial except maybe 3, what should I expect to be done, I am on antibiotics now

I have a loose crown which needs to be re fixed can you suggest anything to help this problem

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I have a loose crown which needs to be re-fixed. The adhesive has failed but it seems that the two posts in my root filling are set at an angle which won’t allow the crown to be prised off. My dentist is concerned that forcing it might snap one of the posts and he has advised that I try eating toffees to work it free but if that doesn’t succeed he says he’ll have to cut the crown off. That will be an expensive job. I’ve tried the toffees, pulling and rocking the loose crown and that seems to have loosened it a bit more but it’s still holding firm. Can you suggest anything to help with this problem please?

Are porcelain fused to metal crowns removable? i wish to have porcelain crown please advise

Sunday, May 31st, 2009
Q.
Are PFM crowns removable? I just got two porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns over my canine teeth but HATE them- they look so unnatural (opaque, color doesnt match the rest of my teeth, thick-looking- I look like I am wearing teeth I got at a halloween store)! I wish I had known porcelain crowns were an option. please advise- I am desperate!

I had a crown fitted 5 months ago and now it fell out is it reasonable to ask for a refund

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I had a crown fitted 5 months ago, it cost me approx £300 for a white one, it fell out tonight along with nearly all of the tooth underneath, I don’t think it can be repaired? all I’m left with is a big hole and no tooth above the gum line. Is it reasonable to ask for a refund? If i’d been warned it may not last long I wouldn’t have gone to the expense.

I two teeth which are need to be crowned will they be done in metal in NHS please advice

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I currently have two teeth which by dentist said will benefit from being crowned. However he said that if I have these crowns on the NHS, they will have to be done in metal and will be seen as metal in my mouth, rather than porcelin and that to have a porcelin crown I will have to pay privately. I have tried looking for this information on the NHS website, under the band 3 information, however nothing is stated. Could you give me any information regarding this please.

i just had my new crown and i can not close my teeth together do i need to wait and see

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I have just had a new crown put on my upper left molar and when I try to bite it hits the teeth below and can’t close my teeth together properly. I told my dentist and he then filed down the crown and also down the opposing tooth on the jaw below but I still can not close my teeth together. My dentist said not to think about it and it will be alright. Because I can’t eat properly at the moment, do I wait and see what happens or do I go back and see my dentist again?

my dentist informed that my root will not support post crown what could be the problem

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
After a severe fall I lost 2 dental crowns on the left lower side of my mouth. My dentist has informed me that my roots will not support post crowns and that I will have to have a saddle denture. I am deeply unhappy about this. Is there an alternative -and what could be the problem with my roots?
