I two teeth which are need to be crowned will they be done in metal in NHS please advice

Q. I currently have two teeth which by dentist said will benefit from being crowned. However he said that if I have these crowns on the NHS, they will have to be done in metal and will be seen as metal in my mouth, rather than porcelin and that to have a porcelin crown I will have to pay privately. I have tried looking for this information on the NHS website, under the band 3 information, however nothing is stated. Could you give me any information regarding this please.

A. In theory this is correct as porcelain crowns at the back of the mouth are not covered by the NHS
