i just had my new crown and i can not close my teeth together do i need to wait and see

Q. I have just had a new crown put on my upper left molar and when I try to bite it hits the teeth below and can’t close my teeth together properly. I told my dentist and he then filed down the crown and also down the opposing tooth on the jaw below but I still can not close my teeth together. My dentist said not to think about it and it will be alright. Because I can’t eat properly at the moment, do I wait and see what happens or do I go back and see my dentist again?

A. Give it a few days as the teeth often settle. If it doesn’t, pop back for another adjustment.
