Is this a fair price for the treatments I need?

Q.
Hi Doctor, I am going to have three teeth filled, another tooth capped, and a small amount of laser work for ginngivittis(sic). She is going to charge $1900.00, and I have no insurance. Is this a fair price? Thanks, Pete,

Can you advise me on my complex case?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010
Q.
Hi my problem is that i have gingivitis/periodontitis and late stages of enamel erosion, reasons for the periodontitis is because i am in my teens i think, its aggressive type, caused by the hormones. And my acid erosion was due to my love of coke and brushing my teeth 4 times a day, problem is every time i look for a periodontitis they all seem to offer facelifts and other things, which makes me feel like they are just cheap out to make cash and not really going to improve my current teeth. Would you be able to suggest a periodontitis in Bangor northern ireland, or Belfast or anywhere which is a good periodontist that you would trust, and also i have said to my dentist about my current gum problems she says its caused by my “braces” which have been removed for about a good 9 months. So i am starting to think i should change dentist too, i would like to get crowns before july too though, advice and help on them would be appreciated, thanks for reading my question.,

What kind of dental implant treatment would be available for my case?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010
Q.
I have not been able to see a dentist for quite some time now due to financial difficulties. My problem is my front teeth are fine, but I have always had problems with my back teeth. I currently only have only 10 back teeth left. I am contemplating false teeth, if the financial situation improves. What would the difference be between false teeth and dental implants?,

I’ve been told that I have to have crown treatment now after only needing a filling, please advise me.

Q.
I wanted to change my metal fillings for white ones.I paid £150 to have one done and the experience was awful.THe dentist made me feel like a naughty school child making remarks such as”You can make this longer if you like”I was told my the receptionist that as he started my treatment then he would have to continue. The new filling I had was so uncomfortable and extremelely painful when I chewed but again I was told only “my dentist”could rectifty the problem.Reluctantly I have gone back to the same man to have another filling replaced but as I have been grinding down on a bottom tooth he now says I have to have a crown costing £490I please advise.thanks,

Do I have my tooth extracted OR the root canal treatment?

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Q.
My dentist has given me the option of root canal treatment or extraction on a tooth, lower jaw, back right. The tooth is already heavily filled with amalgam. I am a very nervous patient (terrified more like). Is it worth the pain, possible side effects and cost of root canal treatment for an already heavily ‘filled’ tooth?,

Has crown been fitted correctly?

Monday, March 15th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I had a 4 teeth bridge fitted last week on the lower left side of my mouth. I have found there is a large gap between the bottom of the bridge and my gum, I can also feel with my tongue the supporting anchor teeth under the crowns as there is a gap there also. I was under the impression that a crown covers the whole tooth back and front. Does this sound like it’s been incorrectly fitted? Thank you for your time.,
