I Have A Loose Front Tooth. Would A Cosmetic Dentist Be Able To Give Me A Bridge Instead Of A False Tooth?

Hello Dr Hughes. I have a question for you that I hope you can help me with. I have a bridge on the right front part of my mouth. The false tooth on the bridge is next to my big front tooth. Now I have a loose front tooth on the left side of my mouth next to my big left tooth. My NHS dentist said I cannot have another bridge and would have to have a false tooth instead. This is something which I really don’t want. What I want to know is: would a cosmetic dentist be able to give me a bridge instead of a false tooth? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I’ve Been Quoted £4500 For Full Braces Treatment Over Two Years. Is This Correct Or Am I Being Overcharged?

Hi,

I recently had a consultation for Fast Braces. After getting my OPG scan done I was told I didn’t qualify for Fast Braces and my only other realistic option would be conventional train tracks.

I’ve been quoted £4500 for the full works for a treatment plan of two years. If accepted for the finance plan, I would need to pay 30% upfront with the remainder due over the next ten months.  Based on the information I’ve given what I would like to know is, is the cost correct or am I being overcharged?  Is there anything I should be concerned about going forward?

I just want to make sure I’m making the right decision.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do I Have To Pay For Braces Treatment Now That I’m 18?

Hi, I’m 18 and I just wanted to ask a few questions about braces.
I had braces when I was 12 and my teeth were perfect but my retainer snapped so it was really hard to wear it because it kept cutting my skin so I stopped wearing it so often. Now my teeth aren’t as straight as they were and I wondered if I could have any sort of brace for free or would I have to pay? I really don’t like my teeth anymore and occasionally I end up biting the sides of my cheeks with my teeth when I’m eating and it’s so sore.

I Have An Abscess But Can’t See My Dentist. Should I Take The Antibiotics He Gave Me?

Hi Andrew. I went to the dentist yesterday because I thought the tooth whitening I was doing had caused me some irritation. The dentist found a small abscess in the front tooth and dressed it. This was a surprise to me as it was not so painful. He gave me antibiotics but said to try not to take them. Should I take them as it is now very painful and is around the nose area again and worse than before. It is worrying me but the dentist is closed over the weekend. I hope you can advise me. I’m Filming A TV Show. If I Have The Top Brace Taken Off, Is That Going To Cause Me Any Problems?

Hi there,

I’ve had braces since August and I am filming a TV show in America which requires me to have the top brace taken off as it’s very visible with my smile. At the moment I only have it on to close the gaps between my molars where one tooth on each side was removed to create space. The gap is just large enough for me to fit the end of my tongue in. If I have the top brace taken off is that going to cause any problems? I personally don’t care about the gaps as they’re totally invisible. My front teeth are now all straight but it’s just the small gaps they’re trying to close. What do you think?

Hello Dr Patel, I’d like your advice. Both my upper lateral incisors are set back about 0.5cm behind my front teeth. One sits on my lower incisor, the other just behind.
I had a removable brace as a teen, 10 years ago and after 2 years of diligently wearing it, I got told he may have made a mistake!
I would like to know what options I now have for correcting this? I am investigating Invisalign, but I’d like to know if there is a cheaper, faster alternative?

My problem is that my daughter is massively insecure about her teeth, she stopped sucking her thumb at the age of 15 (it was a serious habit) in order to be on the waiting list for braces she has to wait until she was 17! Is It Possible To Have A Bonded Retainer Fitted To The Rear Of My Top Set, With One Being A Crown?

Hi Andrew. Quick question for you – is it possible to have a permanent retainer fitted to rear of top teeth – one of which would be a crown? I feel my teeth are moving and before I go to dentist I wanted to check if this was in any way possible – I am scared to bite down on the front teeth – and it’s now affecting what I can and cannot eat? I should also point out that I have missing teeth – I basically have 10 top teeth with no gaps of which 5 are crowns. Any information would be great. Thank you for your time.

Hello. I Would Like To Know How Long It Would Take To Open Up Roughly 4mm Of Space For Dental Implants To Be Placed?

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me? When I was younger I had braces to open up a space. This space had to be opened up in order to compensate for my missing lateral incisors which had to be replaced with dental implants. Now I am 18 and have been told there is not enough space in the roots to place the actual dental implant and I have been advised to have even more orthodontic treatment, I am just wondering how long it would take to open up roughly 3/4mm of space for dental implants to be placed? Any response will be greatly received. Thank you.

Hi Dr Patel, I hope you are well. I’m in need of your advice. I’m currently 22 years old. I’m having a problem with my protruding teeth. I’ve already had braces when I was 15 but now feel my teeth have relapsed and are protruding again. I don’t even feel like smiling any more. I need some options. Which braces I should go for to make my teeth look straight. I’m currently looking for those braces which are invisible and doesn’t cost the earth.
