Is there a less visible option than metal clip to hold denture in place?

Monday, February 1st, 2010
Q.
Hi I have my 2 front teeth and 3 teeth either side of them then no others (upper)The last teeth on either side are loose and need to be removed. My dentist has offered me a partial denture saying that this will be held in place by metal clips on my front teeth.I would like to know if this is the only possibility or is there something that is a little less visable?,

Monday, February 1st, 2010
Q.
I have had a bridge for several years and recently I had to have it replaced with a denture ,My dentist said that the teeth the bridge was attached too was no longer secure I now have a denture in place of my four front teeth which I hate. My question is would it still be possible to have dental implants?? or have my gums at the front shrunk back too far to have this procedure.,

Can I receive treatment as part of training for staff?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010
Q.
Is there anyway that I could be used to train staff as I could never afford the treatment I need. I have been wearing a denture for 25yrs and have lost all confidence in myself due to the embarressment of this. I am even too embarressed to go to a dentist now because the last dentist that made me a denture made me feel like a horse,

Is there a way to secure my loose dentures?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010
Q.
sadly due to poor diet and stress I had my dentures extracted at the age of 24! i have had a replacement set of dentures fitted by a dentist who suggested that the initial extraction looked as if it had been by a butcher1 However I have been more than pleased by the complete set fitted by them & most people are unaware that I wear dentures. The query is the bottm set are now slightly loose ,is there a method of fixing them more securely? Roughly how much would it cost?,

Can I have uncomfortable denture replaced?

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010
Q.
Hi there, I suffer from gum recession and it is likely that I will eventually lose my teeth; due to periodontic problems. I just had two teeth out and have had a partial denture fitted on a plate. Whilst the denture looks good, the plate in the roof of my mouth feels so awful. Bulky etc. It cost me £400. When my gums heal, then is it right that I will have to have another one made? again loads more money. I hate my smile, with the gum recession and am thinking about just having the front 6 teeth out and be done with it. Any ideas?,

Will NHS pay for some of costs of dental treatment?

Friday, January 15th, 2010
Q.
I have recently had a set of intermediate partial dentures fitted, then in three months my dentist has suggested fitting a set of flexible dentures. Under the latest NHS dental agreement is it possible to offset part of the cost against the NHS and pay only the extra costs involved?,

Can damaged tooth be repaired?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a very badly damaged front tooth. On the top row, one of the teeth has a large section missing, exposing the gum. The back of the tooth is fine and healthy. An NHS dentist has seen it in the past but was not able to do anything about it. The tooth is getting weaker and it’s getting gradually harder and harder to eat even the softest foods. I know it’s my own fault but would really like to get it fixed and don’t know what options to look into. Many thanks for any help you can suggest. Kind regards,
