Tol I need bone grafting but unsure about procedure?

Monday, February 15th, 2010
Q.
Hello. I’ve been looking into achieving some relief from wearing a full upper denture – which I have had to do for over 40 years. Implants look and sound great but, having had a basic xray, it appears there is very little bone at the front of my jaw. I am not keen to go so far as bone grafting and wonder what options may be available to me. Also, I have been quoted 2 very different prices for MRI scans – £125 and £250. Please can you also advise why there might be such a difference in cost for this preliminary examination? I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in anticipation.,

Wil NHS fund my implant and braces treatment?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
Im a 21 year old male student, from the age of 12 i have had a crown on one of my top front teeth. Having had many problems from a young age with excesses operations performed by dental students within the london hospital (some leading to complications). Due to this when having my last crown fitted at hte age of 15 i asked to be sedated, when awake i was quickly rushed out with out seeing my smile.. my current crown it is out of line and cuts my mouth regularly when sleeping. It doesn’t meet my gums and leads my mouth to bleed, the back to the crown doesn’t touch my gums (to the point i can get my tong into the gap) my current dentist has confirmed i don’t have a gum infection, more the crown is causing the problems. i have been recommended to look for a implant and braces. Due to the complications and past problems with all past work being undertaken with the NHS i was wondering if there would be any way the NHS would partly fund the work.. also how long would the work take? and a average cost?,

I have been recommended three implants but is this necessary?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
I have a double bridge which needs replacing (according to my dentist). I have been sent to an implant specialist (I have already had an implant in another area) and have been told that not only will I have to be without the four teeth for 6 months (for gum reconstruction) but I will need 3 adjacent implants for these 4 teeth. Would you think it really necessary for me to need 3 implants? I only want it to look as it is now.,

I would like implants but am scared of the dentist – can you help me?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
As a child my front teeth stuck out and my carers were advised by professionals to remove one tooth form each side inorder for my front teeth to spread out. The braces helped however left gaps on each side. I have a bridge on my left side however I can see black/grey on top of the tooth near my gums. I have a gap on my right side which makes me feel uncomfortable. Plus one of my front tooth has discoloured and I think it my be a dead tooth.I have had bad experience with my teeth therefore very scared of going to the dentist. I would like implants but apprehensive and worried about the cost, how long it would take and the end result. Are you willing to take on a challenge? Can you help me? I am from Birmingham?,
