Hi, I’m 17. Am I Eligible For Any Reduction In Costs For Orthodontic Treatment?

Thursday, October 31st, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. I’m 17 years old and in full time education, would I qualify or get some money off braces because I’m still in education? My teeth are almost straight but my four front teeth have started over-lapping, no one else can notice it yet although I know it’s gradually getting worse. The teeth on my lower jaw are completely fine and my dentist says I have no overbite. How much would braces cost and how long do you think I’d need them for? Also, will my teeth continue to get worse or will my jaw begin to settle as I’m 17? Cheers, it’s much appreciated, really hope you can help.

I Was Told When Younger That I Would Need My Jaw Broken To Fix My Large Overbite. How Much Would It Now Cost To Fix My Smile?

Friday, October 25th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. My problem is that I have a overbite and it is quite big. When I was a child I went the orthodontist and he told me it was a very big overbite and would probably need my jaw broken. My two front teeth are very prominent compared to the others. Does this mean Invisalign would not work for me? I really don’t want the metal braces! Is there any other options? Like veneers? Based on the information I have given you can you take a rough estimate on how long it would take to fix my smile?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.

The Screws In My Wife’s Implants Are Coming Loose, What Is The Cost Of Replacing The Component Restorative Portion?

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. My wife has Nobel Biocare implants and it seems the top denture is removable and the bottom one in permanent. She has had them for seven years. They are getting loose and needs new screws to hold them in place. As it is there used to be a gap between the denture and the gum line, it is no longer there and it is causing her some discomfort. What would be the cost of component restorative portion? How long does the procedure take? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me on this matter.

I Had A Failed Bone Graft Early Last Year And My Chin Aches Constantly. What Options Should I Take?

Thursday, October 17th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. Early last year I had a bone graft to save my lower right central incisor due to bone loss. I also had some deep cleaning on all four quadrants. The graft failed unfortunately and now my mouth aches constantly in the chin area. I want to remove that tooth and do not want an implant, I want nothing to do with drilling into that so very sore area, so what other options can you suggest are available for me, besides an implant. The two teeth on either side are bending inward and pushing it further back. I hope you can help me with this as it’s causing me quite a lot of concern, many thanks.

I’m Considering Veneers As I Want Perfect, Pearly Whites. How Much Are They And Will They Damage My Teeth?

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, recently I have been strongly considering
porcelain veneers to improve the appearance of my teeth, but I have some questions for you. On average
how much does it cost for each veneer per tooth? Also, how much would you charge in your clinic for example, and will having them cause any damage my own teeth? This is something I would really like to have done, my teeth are not particularly in an awful condition but they are also far from perfect pearly straight whites, and I would like them to look nice and the best they can be. Thanks, I would really like to hear from you.

I Had A Calcium Deficiency During My Pregnancy. Can Anything Be Done To Rectify My My Smile?

Thursday, September 26th, 2013
Q.

During pregnancy I had horrible case of calcium deficiency, my teeth shifted and I suffered significant bone loss. I would like to know if your six week smile program would be ideal for me since it is a lot gentler in regards to the movement of teeth below the gum line.
My lower central incisors are slightly twisted, the lateral incisors have moved slightly behind the central incisors which have resulted in lower crowding.
My upper central incisors have moved forward and my gum line has elevated a bit, also I have developed a space between them. My right lateral incisor and canine have shifted slighted behind each other. My upper right first and second pre-molars were extracted. Also I have filings in both my upper first molars.

Please advise if anything can be done to rectify my smile. Regards.

I’d Like To Close The Gaps In My Teeth, Would Veneers Work Well For Me?

Monday, September 23rd, 2013
Q.

Good Morning Dr Moore,

I have a question regarding the gap I have on the top arcade between the first and the second incisive on the right. The gap is 2,5mm wide maximum and I believe it is due to the fall of the second incisive milk tooth at the age of 25, I’m now 39 years old and the gap has stayed constant in all these years without moving toward the first incisive.
I would like now to finally fix it and close or cover the gap. What options are there for me? Do you know if veneers be a viable option?
Many thanks, I really hope you can help me with this and offer your advice.

I Had Work Done Abroad And I Need To Find A UK Dentist To Fix A Clip That Has Broken On One Of The Bars?

Friday, September 20th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I really hope you can help me. I have complete over-dentures supported by Eight implants, this work was carried out in Malta, but I cannot go back at this time. One of the bars that engage with the clips has broken and I am fearful that the remaining one will go so I need to find someone in the UK who can fix it. The system is Royal Biocare. The last time I had a problem with the clips I tried to get help from all the NHS dental help lines but to no avail because I had the work done privately, they couldn’t give me any helpful advice. I can only be away for a day as my husband is ill. Can you suggest anything that I could do?

I’m Worried That I’ll Keep Having To Pay For Crowns, Would I Be Better With A Permanent Metal One?

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013
Q.

Hello, Dr Moore. I’ve previously had treatment for a porcelain crowning fitted onto my bottom left incisor, but after a year it has completely shattered off, the capping I had before this was a lot stronger, but I fear now that I’m 18 that I have to pay for a new one, and I’m told that the crowns are only meant to last for a few years and it’s a 300 pound replacement each time which I would struggle to afford. So I’ve come to the conclusion that I would rather have a more permanent metal replacement of some sort. What would be best type to get and how much would it cost me? Also what do you think would be the cheapest? Thanks, I really hope you can answer my question.

Six Month After My Braces Treatment My Tooth Has Gone Noticeably Grey. What Should I Do?

Friday, September 13th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I’d like to tell the problem I have recently really been struggling with. I am Thirty-Nine and had fastbraces for six months last year with elastics from top to bottom. During treatment I had to stop wearing the elastics on one tooth which was not wired down to the others as I was in agony with the tooth being pulled up and out. I told the dentist at the time and he said it would settle back down. Now six months after treatment which was otherwise successful this tooth is noticeably grey – I really don’t know what I should do? – I have totally healthy teeth otherwise, Thank you, I really hope you can help me sort this problem out.
