Should I get a crown after my root canal treatment?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Q.

Hello, I have had pain in my back tooth on eating or drinking anything cold for over a year now. I recently visited Andrea Ubhi’s dental practise in York, on the first visit I was told I needed root canal treatment, on the second visit that I needed a crown fitting because of a crack in my tooth?! I would be greatful if you could advise me on what do you suggest I do now? Thanks.

Q.

Hi,

I had a filling done about 2 weeks ago, was only a small one so had it done without the injection. Now when i drink cold water or eat hot food it really hurts.

What could this mean or be?

Thanks

I had two veneers fitted and now my teeth are sensitive to pain, how long will this last and is it normal?

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011
Q.

4 weeks ago I had 2 veneeers fitted which have left my teeth sensitive to pressure and hot and cold. I had no issues previously re senstive teeth. I am worred that after 4 weeks the pain is permanent. How long is the usual period for teeth to be sensitive after veneers are fitted? Incidentally, my teeth were fine when I had the temporaries fitted.

Can I have my tooth removed under general anaesthetic in hospital?

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011
Q.

Hi
i have an oversensitive painful tooth due to a large filling hitting the nerve. my dentist (private) has attempted root canal 3 times but is too painful. the last time he used sedation, which did not work at all. he says the nerve wont go numb as it is sensitised, so will hurt for root canal or extraction. i cant bear being in pain any more, can I ask to be referred to my local hosptital for extraction under general anaeshetic as it seem it will never go numb with local and I cant go through with an extraction without numbing. thanks

Am I using the right toothpast for sensitive teeth?

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Q.

I have very sensitive teeth especially on my top right side when the pain can last quite a long time .
I have discovered that Euthymol toothpaste leaves my teeth and mouth feeling fresh and clean than any other toothpaste , but wondered if it is ok to use on my sensitive teeth ?
