Hello. I have been up for a few hours such searching the internet looking for ways to get low cost dental care for my fiancé. His teeth are so bad and his breath is worse. He wasn’t taught properly about hygiene so they are not taken care of. I want to marry him when his confidence is high. I want to be able to kiss him finally and not have to stop him to go rinse with mouthwash, even then it doesn’t always work. Something is wrong and he needs help. Financially we can’t swing the cost. Do you have any advice for us? I don’t want to lose him, but I am having a harder time getting past the teeth. Especially when we get married. His teeth should match his awesome personality. Thanks.
Hello Dr Hughes. I had steroids as a child and as a result my teeth more or less all contain fillings. Money is tight for me, but I have a very painful jaw which my dentist tends to ignore. I have two teeth missing and others need pulling out. I am only 36 and find it hard to smile because I have lost all confidence as my teeth are such a mess not to mention how painful eating and drinking is. What should I do? Hello Dr Moore I can’t afford treatment at the moment and I have broken teeth which need removing. I also need fillings and think I have a abscess. I am missing front teeth that I would like replaced so I can at least talk again never mind smile. I was wondering if you could tell me how I find my nearest dental school and also how I could contact them. Also if all this work could be carried out by students and how much it’s likely to cost. Hello. I am a 20 year old student who hasn’t taken care of my teeth. I have now realised that if I don’t do something soon there will be nothing left. I haven’t seen a dentist in over 5 years and rarely brush due to the fear that I will now make things in my mouth even worse. I don’t know what it is but I can’t see a dentist. It’s got to the point where I have been in enough pain over the last few weeks that I have needed to take ibuprofen and sometimes paracetamol at the same time to get rid of the pain. I believe I have at least 14 bad teeth and at least 6 of them are really bad. I want to find help but I don’t know what to do. Please could you give me some direction on what to do next. Thanks.
Hello Dr Moore. I saw my new dentist today who said I needed veneers on my four front teeth. I’m currently exempt from charges. Will this treatment be done for free?
I didn’t ask her as she seemed to be saying it while knowing I was exempt.
She was very helpful and I’m sure she would have mentioned if I had to pay. I’m so glad I have found this surgery as my last dentist really did not seem to care and did very bad work on my teeth. Thank you for your reply.
Hello Dr Moore. I grind my teeth and I have crown at the front. I also have two false teeth but my crown keeps falling out. I did have a bridge on my three front teeth but I ended up with an abscess and had to have my root removed. I’m of ill health and my grinding is due to stress, it’s a vicious cycle because I’m worried about my health. I was wondering could I get implants on the NHS or if I could just get two for my front teeth and pay up myself? I don’t know how this all works and I’d just like some advice. Thanks.
Hi Andrew. I’ve got two front teeth that need replacing at the moment and I am currently unemployed so I can’t afford implants. Is there anyway NHS dentist do it for free? I’ve previously changed dentist as the one before damaged rest of my front tooth by replacing them with caps and they kept on breaking the edge of the teeth. He also kept on saying no whenever I mentioned whether it was possible for me to get help with dental implants. What should I do? Thank you for taking the time to listen to me.
Hello Andrew. I started cosmetic dental work around 18 months ago and had my front 6 teeth filed and temporary’s put on. Due to unforeseen financial circumstances I couldn’t afford to go ahead with the treatment and I still have these temporary’s on, almost two years later. I’m embarrassed to see the dentist as it’s been so long and my gum are pretty red also. Would I qualify for NHS crowns as I have an exemption card or would this still be seen as cosmetic? Thanks.
Hi there. I have just turned 27 years old. I used to wear braces when I was in school, the ones with the single mental line, which I could take out and put back in whenever I liked. Due to personal circumstances dental treatment stopped. As the years have gone by especially in the last few years I have noticed they are moving and are not straight. I have a job but I’m receiving working tax credit. I’ve always put dental treatment off due to costs. But now I really want braces as it’s effecting my self esteem. I was wondering what would be the best way to go about getting them at a reasonable price. Thank you.
