Hello. I had braces treatment when I was around 18 – 19. I am 25 now and I have this one tooth that is slowly going behind my main top tooth. I don’t want braces again, but I am happy with anything but braces. Can you remove and insert a new tooth? also my teeth don’t overbite, I think I needed jaw surgery but my dentist didn’t push it.

I’m a 34 years old woman.
I have a mild underbite which I’d like to be fix (or improve the look of).
I’d like to know if it is really possible to fix the look of a mild underbite, (narrow upper jaw) without surgery?
I’ve done some research and I found a few places in the US where they do it.
I can’t find any cosmetic dental surgery where they fix the underbite look without surgery.

Hi Dr Gambroudes. I’m 22 years old and an nhs patient. I recently went to see a dentist and he said I needed a fixed brace and 2 teeth out to make room for my 4 teeth at the front which are overcrowded. Years ago, I was told that I couldn’t have braces because my jaw isn’t correct and unless I had my jaw cracked into place. I have chosen not to have my jaw cracked and recently this dentist said that it is possible to have fixed braces. This is confusing. I was also wondering whether I have to pay the nhs for braces or not? Thanks.
Hi Dr Marcus, I am 12 years old and I think my teeth went forward or back as when I close them and put my teeth down it feels strange.
Like there is a tooth in the way. I also have 2 teeth growing on top of the gum. When I close my mouth the teeth on the left it feels like one is in the way. Please help me. How do I know if my teeth came forward and how do I get them to look like they are on my top left next to the top big teeth – the one on the left of the big tooth is behind the bottom left teeth? I am 18 years old. When I was little I sucked my thumb and it caused a drastic overbite and I had to have surgery because the skin where my upper lip meets my gums caused a big gap in my front teeth. I hate how my teeth look, but I don’t want braces for years because I get such severe canker sores in my mouth. Is there any faster form of braces or anything that may cause less mouth pain or prone to sores. If I do have to go with braces I would at least like to know if there are any fast and reliable choices. Invisalign won’t work because my over bite is too big. Please let me know if there any other options available. Thanks!
I’m 21 years old and I’m unemployed. Am I allowed braces on the NHS?
The reason I ask is, from the age of 14 I have been bullied regarding my teeth. I’ve never had confidence because of this, I have received counselling and nothing has helped!
When I was 16 I asked my dentist for braces and he said I don’t need them and if I want them then I have to pay £2000, so after that I thought I’m never going to get straight teeth.
Today I decided to look up about prices and it stated that if I was under 18 I would have been able to get them on NHS!
I have had a very hard life regarding this.

Hello Dr Hughes. I hope you can help us. I would like to know if you treat children for orthodontics who have been on biphosphonate treatment for osteoporosis? My daughter is 14 years old and has been on and off treatment for 8 years. I have had her on waiting lists for up to two years only to then be told that now they won’t treat her, even though her consultant has said the risks are minimal. Is this something you or any of your colleagues can advise us on? She is desperate to be treated because she also has overcrowding that can be painful at times. Thank you.
Dr Riten Patel. I have diastema and it has been bothering me for a while but I do not want to get braces again (Yes, I’ve had braces before). I visited a dentist recently and they said the fastest treatment was fast braces but then again it’s still braces. I hope to believe that teeth correction surgery exists and I hope you can or know someone who performs surgery to straighten teeth quickly. I am pretty sure it is expensive so if it exists can I please get a price estimate so I can know what to work with? Thank you.

When I was younger, perhaps around 14, (I’m 26 now) I had a tooth taken out on the nhs that was growing the wrong way inside my gum and pushing all the other teeth out of place.
I’ve had braces to sort an under-bite also and I’ve tried to straighten all the rest. Subsequently I feel very little was done. My bite is okay but my jaw is all out of line. In the middle of my bottom jaw is a tooth. So the line that should match up with my top teeth doesn’t match. The fang tooth on my top left side isn’t there and makes my face so different looking to the other side of my face. I feel so ugly with it all over the place. I was wondering if this sounds like it is fixable? I’d give anything to have lovely teeth and not want to hide them.
