I would like a Hollywood smile. What are my options?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Q.

hi there dont really know what treatment I need as my teeth are fine but I have gaps inbetween the bottom set. They are very discoloured & i would basically like a hollywood smile as I havent smiled in pictures for years as i am so embarressed about my teeth. can you recommend what I need to look into & how much it would roughly cost. I use to be a smoker so that hasnt help. I am just so fed up of covering my mouth everytime I speak to someone my confidence is so low due to my teeth. I have a very special occasion coming up and want to look perfect & I know with beautiful teeth my confidence will grow. After having my 1st child I had the gaps filled in my top set due to gum infection this was on the nhs but still not happy . my dentist has said that my teeth are very strong but they just look so unattractive. Nobody has commented my husband thinks I am perfect but without a beautiful smile I just dont feel it. I have no idea how to go about this & what I need done. I am a mum of 2 & 32 years old & do feel guily about spending on my teeth but I know If i get this done family and friends will see a big diffrence in my confidence. thank you so much for your time.

What are the best invisible braces?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Q.

Hi Rob

My situation is that i have pretty awful teeth due to growing up scared due to the way they look…and still I dont like the idea of having the classic metal visible braces. If it was up to me I would get some sort of surgery even if it means not having my original teeth but my girlfriend just won’t allow that to happen. So i’m looking for a quick cheap and non visible way of straightening my teeth…but arnt we all?

I am aware of invisalign but I hear the worse shape your teeth are in then the more it will cost so in my case that will means 5k+

Regards

Will I be eligible for implants on the NHS?

Monday, May 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hello Mr Tennet

I would like 1 or 2 implants for the right side bottom very rear. I have never had the full compliment of teeth perhaps 2 short of any diagram I have seen.
I had the bottom very rear tooth extracted last week, there was a cap and the original base had split, the tooth infront has been missing for about 58 years, when I was a child I had mumps and toothache the dentist at the time with a doctor present took out a newly grown tooth.
From yourself I really would like an idea of the cost of an implant and if there is any National financial help ie disabled OAP that can be put toward the costs. I do attend a National Health dentist but the cost quoted is far beyond any expectation.

Can my brother claim cosmetic services off the NHS for poor dental treatment?

Monday, May 16th, 2011
Q.

My Brother is in need of a dental implannt in one of his front teeth due to an accident he had 10 years ago where he feel and broke his tooth, countless attempt have been made to save the tooth and a root canal was performed a few years agao. He recently went to the dentist to have a post put in with a porcelin tooth attatched however when the dentist used air to dry the area the air when through his tooth and through the root canal that had not closed and his lip and cheek swelled instantaneously. He is now told that there is an infection and his tooth will fall out. Due the incorrect root canal procedure are we liable for a free or discounted price from the NHS for a private implant treatment and if necessary bone graft treatment. Any advice on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering about the cost of treatment involving an implant and 8 veneers?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi there Andrew. I am very keen to get an implant for my upper right tooth (4 from the front) to be replaced. As a teacher and part-time professional singer I get so embarrassed and just want to jolly-well smile again. I have a private filling on my front tooth replaced two years ago following a tooth being cracked in half as a teenager. I really need an implant and 8 teeth to be veneered and leveled out (my teeth at the upper front are about 1/1.5m in different heights). Ironically my lower teeth are near perfect and my childhood dentist, a charleton, never touched them! My ultimate question is this – to have the above treatment do you have any idea as to how much I would look at paying? The next step would then be to pluck up the courage after 1 1/2 years of not going to the dentist through shame!

Warm regards and thanks,  (30 years old)

Can my crooked tooth be fixed with braces?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011
Q.

Hi I wore a brace when I was younger but my bottom teeth have crossed at the front. I wore a retainer on my top set off teeth but not my bottom. Sometimes I feel conscious when I smile because this one tooth can be seen. I would like to ask if there is a solution to my problem although I don't think I could afford to pay for it at the moment so I would just like to speak to someone in advance. I would probably have a brace again or possibly consider the 6 month smile option, would this solution offer a permanent improvement or would it make my teeth worse , I really need some closure on this situation as the longer I wait the worse it becomes , Thanks

I have been neglecting my dental care for years and now my dentist tells me the treatment I need will be expensive.

Monday, April 18th, 2011
Q.

I have been neglecting my dental care due to fear and finance. I finally got the courage to see a dentist because I want to be able to smile in photos of me and my first grandchild. As of now I avoid them and he is 27 months. I told the dentist that I went to that I needed affordable dental care and he said there is no such thing. He said that my dental care would cost in excess of $18,000. I know that I need a lot of work including periodontal treatment but I don’t trust him. He suggested that I get dentures, I am only 47. I am afraid of going to see another dentist. He gave me a printout of my xrays, is there any online consultations that are available. Thank you so very much for your time
