my one year old son has supernumery teeth will it have to be pulled out?

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
Q.
My son is just to turn one year old. He has 4 teeth top and bottom. He has always had a large gap between his front top 2 teeth, but today Ive noticed another tooth growing in this gap! Im worried. Ive looked on the web and have seen “supernumery teeth” is this what he may have? If so what will happen to this tooth? Will it have to be pulled out? I dont think I would want him to keep the tooth as the pictures Ive seen look awful. Please help – Im so upset

I have a split root on a tooth after extraction would bridging be the best option?

Friday, May 8th, 2009
Q.
I have a split root on a tooth which is second from the back of my lower jaw left hand side (already has a crown) I have been told this needs to extracted? In addition, the end tooth next to it needs a crown. After the extraction would bridging be best for the end tooth to have the bridge and cover the tooth next to it? Also could this be covered by a NHS dentist?

i developed bad hiatitus hernia as a result my teeth are badly eroded can it be fixed in NHS

Monday, April 27th, 2009
Q.
Since i was little, I had a brilliant dentist, he moved surgery twice and i followed him, Unfortunatley he retired, and whilst finding a new dentist, i was never given enought pain relief and was in pain and became scared, from once loving the dentist and i stopped going for 2 years, 2 years ago i developed a really bad hiatitus hernia, which caused me to be sick regulary every day for years causing my to be badly eroded and my 2 front almost see through, I have just had an operation to fix the problem, and I’m better, Pluked up the courage to see a new dentist and he said i needed around £500 of work, couldn’t i get it done by the NHS as it was a medical problem that caused it ? I have also heard of people who go to the doctor tell them of thier fear of dentist and they get sent to the hospital, knocked out and all the treatment done for free?

i really dont want my molar and lower back teeth extracted is any other options available

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi, just been to the dentist today and been told I need the molar at the lower back extracted, I really don’t want this and wondered if there is any other options available, I am 22 and have a large cavity in that tooth where a filling has fallen out, on the x-ray you can see the cavity is almost down to the nerve but not quiet and I have no pain, my dentist put a temporary filling in today and that seems ok but I really don’t want an extraction if at all poss. Also abit worried about what I’ve read about the tooth on the row above the removed one having problems because there’s no resistance anymore after an extraction! Any advice would be great, thank you.

My tooth was removed leaving the roots behind, to minimize bone loss

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
I recently had a lower right molar removed when root treatment failed & as it has an opposing tooth, I asked about the possibility of an implant. The tooth was removed leaving the roots behind, to minimize bone loss I was told but when I was referred to an implant specialist, she was surprised to see the roots. I’ve just had the roots removed and I’m left feeling that I’ve been charged twice for the same thing. Surely bone loss happens over a longer timescale than just a few months?
