Teeth extracted for infection

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi there- I had 2 teeth extracted today. I went in expecting to be prescribed antibiotics to get rid of the infection I have(which is causing my face to swell!) and he went ahead and extracted them. One of which was VERY painful. I was not prescribed any pain medication or antibiotics to take care of the infection. Should I see a 2nd dr?

I have a fairly major problem with my front teeth

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have a fairly major problem with my front teeth. Due to over crowding, I believe my Canine tooth is pushed in front of the other teeth and positioned weirdly in my gums, higher up in my gums than my other teeth. Due to the extra space left, my left central incisor is positioned a few millimeters past the center, and my right front tooth is about 1 to 2 millimeters apart. I could easily take a picture to show you exactly what I mean, but my question is basically, is there any cosmetic solutions to making my front teeth at least appear straight, and without the gap in my front teeth, and should I consider getting my Canine tooth taken out. The bottom of the canine tooth is roughly at the same level as the gum line that meets the teeth in the normal teeth, so it’s fairly bad. I work in a line of work where wearing braces is not acceptable, so that isn’t an option even though I wish it was. I personally do not mind braces, but again, nothing I can do because of my line of work.

front tooth overlaps another tooth

Thursday, February 26th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Moore, My brother in law has a tooth on the right hand side of his mouth at the front which overlaps another. He has been told by his Dentist that he can not have the extra tooth removed as the roots are too deep into the gum. Is this definately the case, or is there any chance it could be safely removed. I look forward to your reply

About a week ago I had a molar in my top jaw removed

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Suri About a week ago I had a molar in my top jaw removed – since then the tooth infront of it (the incisor i think) has been giving me some discomfort when i eat. I fear it may have been loosened / damaged during the extraction. What should I do from here? Also I would like to consider having a dental implant in the extracted site and would like more info on costs, procedure etc. Many thanks,

I have known for a while I will need braces

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008
Q.
Hello, I am 17 years old, and I have known for a while I will need braces. i go to an NHS orthodontist and have a removable brace. However, I have been told I need to have four teeth out. This is a big problem for me because I am terrified of needles and having the teeth pulled out. I have tried to have the teeth pulled out four times, twice under sedation. I would like to know if there any braces which I could have which would not need any teeth pulling out, as I would love to have straight teeth. Thank You.
