After Suffering A Traumatic Attack I Want Dental Implants, How Many Do I Need?

Monday, August 19th, 2013
Q.

I had a consultation today I was told I would need to have a bone augmentation procedure as I lost my front tooth through trauma when I was only sixteen years old. I was attacked and beaten really badly, the subsequent injuries I sustained were a hairline fracture of my tooth above the gum line, a broken nose, head trauma, bruising and also anxiety nightmares. I am very nervous and afraid to leave
the house. My parents wanted me to go to the hospital, but that made me feel very frightened. Please can you give me an insight as to what the procedure would entail and how long it would take, roughly. Many thanks. I look forward to receiving your professional opinion. It still effects me to this very day and as you can imagine a denture plate was what my dentist said was my only option at that time, the fracture happened in my top front right
tooth. I want to have dental implants, I had to have my three front teeth removed, my two front teeth and the
tooth to the right also, as my
bridge was damaged. How many
implants to you think I will need?

My Teeth Are Being Repaired But Don’t Look Great, Which Treatments Could Help?

Thursday, July 11th, 2013
Q.

I have quite bad teeth, on the last visit to the dentist at least 4 or 5 need to be removed, the rest are in need of work, which is being done as fillings etc, but they are being done as essential stuff, and not to look good

I have neglected my teeth in the past, and unfortunately although now I try to look after what I have, its too late to do anything other than salvage what is left

My job is very customer and public facing now, and my teeth are starting to cause me some real emotional problems associated with the embaressment of them looking the way they do

What I want to know, Is what would be the best way of getting them looking good again, like a fresh start, would that be dentures? implants? and also how does the cost compare?

Thank you

My Tooth Was Almost Knocked Out Playing Hockey And After Treatment It Is Now Turning Black, Help?

Monday, March 11th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr. 3 weeks ago I was playing hockey and my front left tooth was knocked back and almost out with a hockey stick. I was real worried at the time obviously however I was assured it was okay. The dentist put the tooth back in and then braced it to the teeth surrounding it. It has been 3 weeks since the incident and the tooth is now turning black. I was told to keep the brace on for 5 weeks. What are my options as the other front tooth has started to move forward. I do not want a black tooth as I am a business student and I want to have a decent smile as I previously had 3 years of braces. What should I do to have the best smile?

Friday, February 15th, 2013
Q.

I have no teeth in the upper jaw and only 5 teeth in the lower jaw. I would like to know. If the implants are the same for dentures and for the bridge.
it cost 2900 for 6 implants with a denture and 8800 For 8 implants and a fixed bridge. Why the big differance in price. And if i had the 6 implants with the denture. Can i use the 6 implants In 1 years time to then have a bridge made when i have more money. Thank you very much.

Can I Still Get An Implant If My Gum Has Healed?

Thursday, January 31st, 2013
Q.

I had a molar removed from my top teeth approx 2yrs ago as it was infected could not be saved. I now have a gap. the tooth next to it is a crown but I have now been advised by my dentist that it is loose and will need replacing and the tooth removing as I would not be ble to have another crown. I would like an implant for the missing tooth as well as the tooth that will need removing. But my dentist has said that I would not be able to have an implant as the gum/bone has healed but I might be able to have an implant with a tooth attached so I have 2 teeth. Is this something that can be done?

What Should I Do About My Impacted Teeth?

Thursday, January 24th, 2013
Q.

I am 26 years old and have impacted canine teeeth in the gum and my baby canine’s remainin intact with some wear. I was wondering if I could get Veneers over the baby canines? I am not confident that getting the impacted canines taken down is worth my time or money at this age as the bones from my understanding are pretty fused at this point. Furthermore I’d have to get braces which is way out of my price range and comfortability!
So are Veneers or are implants the better option? Please help!

What Is The Cost Of Having An Implant?

Friday, January 18th, 2013
Q.

Hi, after having root canal in my eye tooth, a year later I got an infection in the guu, after numerous anti-biotics my dentist referred me to the hospital to have the tooth removed and a false one on a plate put in. I was very upset as I did not want to have a plate. On visiting the hospital they said they could try and save the tooth by splitting the gum open to rid the infection. I had this procedure last August. Unfortunately the infection is back as my gum is turning black around the tooth again, with discomfort and a nasty taste. I was wondering if you could advise me of the cost of having the tooth removed replaced by a screw in one. Regards

Will Anyone Fix My Teeth For Free?

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Patel, I am 26 yrs of age, I am looking for a little advice here it goes….My appearance was always very important to me until 2 yrs ago when I was attacked twice by an ex partner leaving me with damage to my jaw and teeth since the incident I have been told I will lose my own teeth as nerves were damaged it has got to the point that I am wishing they would fall out even if I am supplied with standard nhs ‘false teeth’ as my own now look dreadful. There is no possible way I could afford cosmetic dental work so I was wondering if there is any dentists that offer work done in exchange for before and after advertisement pictures. To promote their work to new potential customers. I googled this question and was directed to this site any information would be greatly appreciated thanks

Can My Teeth Be Brought Forward Using Implants

Friday, January 11th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor Safeer Butt, I had 4 teeth extracted and my front teeth pushed back when I was younger to correct an overbite that I had. However, unfortunately, ,my teeth have been pushed too far back in my mouth and now they are hardly visible when I smile. In addition to this, the position of my teeth has made my profile not the best looking as it makes my chin way more prominent. Its really upsetting and effecting my self confidence. My question is,  is it possible to reverse this and bring the teeth forward using implants and pushing the teeth back forward. I have been to visit my orthodontis about bringing the teeth forward about10 years ago who just said it was not possible to move the teeth back.

Thank you
