I Am Getting An Implant After Removing A Front Tooth. What Are My Options Regarding Straight Teeth?

Thursday, September 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Patel, I have a front tooth which I am getting removed and I think I will also be getting an implant. I will also be getting a permanent tooth done, so that I don’t have to walk around with a flipper tooth all my life. I already have quite natural spacing in my front teeth. Which I don’t like and the dentist has now told me that there is nothing I can really do about that. My question is, what can I do to the other tooth to help take up some of that space so that my gap wouldn’t be as big or leave me with no gap at all. (I do not want to remove another tooth). Thanks, I really hope you can help me out.

I Want To Know If Implants Are The Sensible Choice After Suffering From Gum Disease?

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013
Q.

Hi, Dr Moore. My problem is that I had quite aggressive gum disease recently but I’m now quite stable. The four front top and bottom teeth were badly affected.

I am wondering whether to extract these and get implants sooner rather than later? They would definitely look better but I don’t know if this is really the sensible choice – what should I consider?

I don’t know whether to seek cosmetic treatment first but think I would be happier with ” new teeth”. I am currently very good with oral hygiene and know I’d look after my implants if I got them fitted. Thank you.

I Have Dental Implants And My Bottom Denture Rocks Up And Down In My Mouth. Is This Normal?

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Shaffie. When you get dental implants I would like to know how well are they supposed to fit into your mouth? Do you know if they are they supposed to rock up and down inside your mouth? Or should they be lying flat down on to your gums? I have dental implants and my bottom denture rocks up and down in my mouth. I don’t think my dentist has got them right and it worries me to think I might do some permanent damage if I don’t get it fixed. I hope you can help me with this problem. Thank you in advance for any consideration.

I Have Conflicting Consultations On How Many Implants I Should Have? It Has Left Me Confused.

Monday, September 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, I hope you can help with me with my enquiry. I have had two estimates for the all-on-4 implants for my upper jaw. One clinic has quoted me £12000 for the all-on-4 and another has quoted the same price but he says he wants to do All-on-6. I am confused as to which is best is the best option. The all-on-4 guy said I didn’t need any more than four implants to be successful but the All-on-6 guy said he likes to place six and this makes me confused. Both clinics seemed professional enough and they only do implants. Can you help or advise me about a clinic near Liverpool or Manchester? I don’t need a bone graft. I am finding this to be a bit of a nightmare. Thank you I hope you can help.

What Kind Of Qualifications Should I Look For In A Dentist Who Can Provide Dental Implants?

Thursday, September 19th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I would like to know how does one choose a dentist for dental implants? What qualifications should he or she have and what should one expect to pay for this type of treatment within the UK. I have all my own teeth but one at the back has just been removed due to canal root treatment five years ago and it has not solved the problem. I am not sure whether to go abroad for the treatment as I do often travel in Europe for my work but I’m not sure about this option as I do not know what kind of qualifications European dentists should have, and what kind of cost I’ll be looking at? Thank you, I hope you can help.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From All-In-Six Implants And Is It Painful?

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013
Q.

I went for a consultation for all-on-six implants for the removal and replacement for my upper jaw and after the 3-d scan was told I was a good candidate for the treatment. Can you tell me how severe the pain is for the few days after the treatment as I have been told different answers by the two surgeries I have had consultations from? The first dentist said I would be able to go back to work after a day off following the surgery and the second dentist said I would need to have a week off work. I am a bit confused by this, Thanks.

My Dentist Has Said She Can’t Find My Root Canals And May Have To Extract A Tooth, This Really Worries Me, What Should I Do?

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013
Q.

Hi, Hello. I saw my dentist yesterday because I have an abscess on a front tooth and she gave me antibiotics and I was supposed to go back to have root canal treatment but when she looked on my X-ray she said she may not be able to do it as she couldn’t find the root canals and she may have to extract the tooth but I don’t want to lose my tooth, as this really worries me. What do you advise? If I have to lose the tooth what would be the best way to replace it? Is it really possible that she may not find the root canals or does she just want to extract so that I have to have further treatment? Any assistance would help.

How Effective Are Braces Over A Bridge, And Will The Movement Of Teeth Be Restricted ?

Monday, September 2nd, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr. Andrew, I am wondering, if you could possibly advise me on my current dental condition. I am 24 and have a bridge on my upper four front teeth (the central and lateral incisors, as I believe they are called) as I had an accident and lost a central incisor and cracked the lateral. Now I wish to have orthodontic treatment on both my lower teeth and upper, as I have crooked teeth on the lower and an overbite (overjet) somewhat caused by the bridge. I wanted to ask how effective the braces would be over a bridge as the movement of the teeth underneath might be restricted by the bridge. What solution do you recommend? Thanks for your help.

I Have Had My Entire Set Of Teeth Fitted With Dental Implants But I’ve Noticed Some Are A Different Shade. Why?

Monday, September 2nd, 2013
Q.

Hello, After having had problems with my teeth for most of my life, I have just had extensive work and had my entire teeth fitted with dental implants. The next day after the final treatment I noticed that the back quarter of the implants are now a different colour to the other three quarter of the implants. Is this normal? Or is it that the implants are just a different shade to the other implants as they were put in, in separate stages. I heard that they could look darker because I have two old teeth underneath the bridge, but I cannot see this being the case, could you tell me if this is possible? Thank you, I hope you can deal with my request.

I Have Had A Gap In My Teeth Since I Was Fifteen Years Old. What Can I Do To Resolve It?

Friday, August 30th, 2013
Q.

Hi. When I was younger I was fitted with a brace to close the gap at the front of my teeth, but it also appeared when my baby teeth either side of my front ones, fell out. There was no bigger ones coming through so I was fitted with a bridge with a black filler behind them which is very unattractive.

Also, after the brace was taken off my gap reappeared and pushed the bridge slightly, so now they are uneven.

I really want to fix this problem as I am 23 now and my teeth have been like this since I have been 15 and I have always had the gap there.

What can I do to resolve this?

Thank you.
