My teeth are long due to gum disease can I get lumineers

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
I have had gum disease. My gum line is very receded and therefore my teeth are very “long”. I have been treated and see a dentist regularly but would like to improve the looks of my front teeth. I also have big gaps between my teeth where the gums used to be. Am I a candidate for lumineers?

My gums are shrinking and you can see the top of my crown

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
Good morning, Please can you give me some advice. My 2 front teeth have crowned. Originally I was pleased with the result of my crowns when they were fitted 4 years ago. The colour was perfect, and they looked like my teeth before I chipped them playing sport. But as I am getting older, my gums are shrinking so you can see the top of the crown (very unsettling) & they are not as white as my other teeth either. Would you recommend new crowns or vaneers? bearing in mind, I want them to look as real as possible. Thank you for your time

I was given Corsodyl today by my Dentist to help in the healing of minor gum surgery

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Moore — I was given Corsodyl today by my Dentist to help in the healing of minor gum surgery. He told me to mix my Corsodyl with water (okay so far); and to rinse with the mixture prior to brushing. I am a bit confused as the information I am finding on-line indicates that I should brush first and then rinse. Which protocol is correct? …and does it really matter? Thanks in advance for your help. Kate

I was wondering if one or two cigarettes would pose much of a risk to the 6 month braces treatment

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have just had “6 month” braces fixed. I’ve heard it’s not a good idea to smoke during orthodontic treatment as it could slow the straightening process, and also increases the risk of cancer due to restricting the blood flow in the mouth. I am not a heavy smoker and was wondering whether one or two cigarettes a day would not pose too much of a risk? Is smoking a definite no no?
