My gums are shrinking and you can see the top of my crown

Q. Good morning, Please can you give me some advice. My 2 front teeth have crowned. Originally I was pleased with the result of my crowns when they were fitted 4 years ago. The colour was perfect, and they looked like my teeth before I chipped them playing sport. But as I am getting older, my gums are shrinking so you can see the top of the crown (very unsettling) & they are not as white as my other teeth either. Would you recommend new crowns or vaneers? bearing in mind, I want them to look as real as possible. Thank you for your time

A. Hi
Unfortunately this can happen with crowns. The only solution is usually to replace the crowns, perhaps with all-porcelain crowns to improve the overall look, especially if the gum shrinks back again it would be less noticeable
