Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
Q.
Hi,over the last 8-10 years my 2 upper front teeth have clearly protruded forward and it seems my teeth have become more crooked in general,i would like them staightened but there seems to be a vast array of braces to choose from. i am 39 years old and concerned whether braces work on an adult with much success, also 2 of my upper front teeth are noticeably smaller than the others, can you advise the best treatment to make these teeth the same as the others, thanks

I would like to know the pros and cons of having vaneers inman aligner and invisible braces

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Moore, I am 33 years old and am thinking about having cosmetic dental treatment. When i was a teenager, I wore every conceivable brace possible. However, the braces didn’t really do me any good and I still have some overcrowding on my front teeth (top and bottom). I am confused about what type of treatment to go for and am fearful that braces may not work. I have been looking into cosmetic dentistry and would like to know the pros and cons of having vaneers and/or Inman aligner and invisible braces. If I go for the Inman aligner – are the results generally quite good? Also, can you recommend a well respected dentist in Bristol? I would be really greatful to know your honest opinion. Regards

my 6 year old daughter has fluorosis on her teeth and is the teeth more likely to decay

Friday, May 22nd, 2009
Q.
I took my 6 year old daughter to her dentist recently as I have noticed some white marks and slight pitting to her new permanent tooth which came through. He explained that this was fluorosis. Although she has never eaten tooth paste like he asked we do live in a fluorodated area and she always drank plenty of tap water along with reqular brushing, needless to say I am going to complain to the authorities I dont agree with the water being fluorodated as this also happened to my cousin when she was a child!! He said the fluorosis is mild and he has a child who goes to him with severely mottled teeth. He told me not to worry he said it was best not to do anything much with it although he did give the tooth a little polish to improve the appearance. You can only see the imperfections if you look closely but I just wondered if this area is more likely to decay and what cosmetic procedures are available for mild fluorosis. I would rather not go down the route of cosmetic procedures until she is older but it would be nice to know the options and if this area is going to get worse or be prone to decay

i have overlapping front teeth my question is whether veneers or crowns is the best option

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, Im hoping you can help one very confused person! I have 2 overlapping front teeth. Apart from that my teeth are fine.I am considering having veneers/crowns fitted to improve my smile. I would get braces, but am inhibited by the the time that would take and the cost (I dont want the ones that can be seen -I would if I thought it affordable or possible, get ivisalign or the ones set behind the teeth). So my question is I suppose, veneers or crowns? I have an appointment with a dentist in the next couple of weeks and and am not sure which is the better option, in terms of causing minimal damage to my teeth in the long run? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!! Thanks
