i have overlapping front teeth my question is whether veneers or crowns is the best option

Q. Hi, Im hoping you can help one very confused person! I have 2 overlapping front teeth. Apart from that my teeth are fine.I am considering having veneers/crowns fitted to improve my smile. I would get braces, but am inhibited by the the time that would take and the cost (I dont want the ones that can be seen -I would if I thought it affordable or possible, get ivisalign or the ones set behind the teeth). So my question is I suppose, veneers or crowns? I have an appointment with a dentist in the next couple of weeks and and am not sure which is the better option, in terms of causing minimal damage to my teeth in the long run? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!! Thanks

A. Hi.
The first option that I would advise would be orthodontics. You have obviously considered this option. There are systems on the market that are designed for discreetness. (invisalign and clear fixed braces)
If this is definately not an option for you, then having veneers or crowns would depend on the position of the teeth that are overlapping.
If they overlap a considerable amount, then crowning the teeth would be beneficial to protect the remaining tissue. If the overlap is only small, then veneers could possibly be the right choice. It is difficult for me to judge as I haven’t seen them.
Whatever you decide to do, if you chosse a good cosmetic dentist, I’m sure you will get your smile improved!
