i like to improve the look of my front teeth without the expense of traditional veneers

Q. My bottom front teeth are quite eroded and I suspect my top teeth have very thin enamal. I am on a budget but would really like to improve the look of all my front teeth without the expense of tradtional veneers. What do you suggest?

A.

We need to primarily look into the reasons behind your teeth being worn. There are many routes to cover- such as tooth grinding, acidic diet etc.
There are definately options available to yourself.
As you are straying away from the idea of veneers- I would advise composite build ups instead. Composite is a white filling material- that comes in a range of shades that can be matched to your existing teeth. This is placed onto the incisal edge of the tooth and shaped.
This is a good option. You must be aware however that these composite build ups may chip off at some time- especially if you grind your teeth at night. It may be worth having a soft bite gurad to wear at night- to prevent this from happening.
I hope this helps.
