I am 49 and unfortunately have a mouthful of fillings dating back to my teens. I would love to have these fillings removed as my teeth are discolored. What is the best thing I could do to improve the appearance of my mouth without spending too much money.

My sensitive tooth has gone worse after the old filling was removed and new filling went in

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I have been suffering from sensitive tooth for more than a month. When I visited the dentist he used desensitized product to relieve the symptoms, which did not help. Now today I went again and he took little bit of my old filling and filled it with a new one and also around the sensitive teeth. My question is that I feel my tooth has gone worse do I need to give it time or shell I go back to him again. I tried to brush which was not pleasant.

My 82 year old mother with parkinsons had work done on her teeth – fillings etc and when she drove home afterwards she was involved in an accident. Could this at all be related to the dentistry procedures. Thank you regards

I have 4 teeth that are heavily filled

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008
Q.
Hi, I have a question. I have 4 teeth that are heavily filled also on 2 of them I dont have that much tooth left. My nhs dentist has told me that they cannot fit crowns on the 2 teeth because there is not that much tooth left. Now, I dont really want to go for Implants now, because they are basically surviving on a large filling. Can i request crowns or should my dentist advise me what I should do. I basically feel like she is leaving it too late and leaving it till i dont have much tooth left and then saying i cannot put crowns on there. I am only 28 and only eat on one side of my mouth, so this is the reason why most of my teeth are filled on one side.. My question is can I request crowns or should she advise me. ..Pls can you get back to me. Thanks

I have a very large filling in one of my upper rear teeth

Monday, December 8th, 2008
Q.
Hi, my question relates to crowns. I have a very large filling in one of my upper rear teeth (second from the back) my dentist thought the cavity was really a bit large to be filling but i didn’t want to lose the tooth so it was filled. I’ve been very careful with it and its lasted about 8 months but part of the tooth has now broken off, i assume this will only get worse and so my question is can the filling be ground down allong with the remaining tooth to support a crown, or does the filling have to be removed and the crown bonded just to the tooth as i don’t think there will be enough material to bond to if the filling is removed. thanks.

my teeth are stained a kind of yellow

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008
Q.
Hi Ok i hate my smile, my teeth are stained a kind of yellow and i have cavities. My biggest fear in the world is the dentist everytime i go i have a panic attack and it makes the treatment more stressfull for me and the dentist. I wonder if you can help me, by having sleep dentistry is it possible for me to have fillings, teeth whitened etc all in one go whilst asleep? Then i feel that if i had a better smile then i would take proper care of my teeth. The problem is that im ony 16 can i still have treatment done at this age? and roughly how much would it cost? If you could let me know then it would be great, because having a new, nicer smile would give me the confidence that i need and you would be a lifesaver. x
