Hello, I had a Sure Smile teeth whitening treatment performed with UV light with some gel, first for 15 minutes and then 30 minutes afterwards. My teeth were very sensitive and I had a major headache. Also the goggles appear to have burnt the side of my face, is this legal? I said my teeth were lacking enamel. It even hurts to chew. My friend had hers done and she is fine. I wish I hadn’t bothered, has this happened before? Thank you in advance.
Hello Dr Moore. I am in my sixties and have had Zoom done with no noticeable results. I would not be happy with very white teeth, so my question is: is it possible to use Enlighten just in my home to my desired level of whiteness? I have problems wearing my trays at night, so could I do it for just an hour during the day?
If this is not possible, in your opinion, what is the best at home bleaching product for using during the day please? Thank you.
Hello Dr Hughes. I could do with some advice as I don’t have a great amount of knowledge on current cosmetic dental treatments and I’m not too aware of what is available. Can you please let me know how I can brighten up my veneer on my front tooth? This has been in place for the last 18 years and it’s starting to look a little bit dingy. Hi Mark, I have always had yellow teeth from the moment they come through the gums, some dentist said it was down to a certain anti- biotic. If I tried to have them whitened, would it work or would I be wasting my money? Apart from the yellow problem my teeth don’t look too bad, so what would you recommend? It’s been an embarrassment to me all my life. When I was a child my teacher used to ask me if I’d cleaned my teeth, which gave me a complex at such a young age. I am 44 now and I still don’t smile with my mouth open. I look forward to any advice you can give. Thank you.
Hi Dr Moore. I currently have brown stains on my teeth and I have just had a polished at the dentists but they are still there. How can I get rid of them? Are there any home treatments I can use? Or do I have to see someone? How much would it cost? Or am I just stuck with them? I drink a tea a lot and fizzy juice but have started to cut down on the juice but still drink tea but with no sugar. If you could help me that would be great as It affects my confidence and I find it hard to smile and talk to people.
Hi there Dr Moore, my 10 year old daughter’s two front teeth are really white on the bottom half. Our dentist has said she probably swallowed too much toothpaste when she was younger which has given her this appearance. He seems reluctant to give me any advice on cosmetic procedures, I appreciate she is a bit young but we would like to think there was hope as she is starting to become embarrassed of it now and I don’t want her to be teased about it at school. I have a front tooth (second left) which is chipped (approx 30% of tooth), I have had a composite filling done in the past but it keeps falling out. I would prefer a more reliable and durable fix, but I do not want to have a crown just yet. Is a porcelain filling a possible option. I’d also like to know the cost as well please? I’d like to know if teeth whitening can solve the problem of a tooth that has internal/inside teeth yellow discolouration which started showing after the removal of milk teeth? The yellow colour covers the whole teeth but later washed off on its own without treatment but leaving six teeth at the front with the yellow colour though not much on the teeth. The yellow colour is on four teeth at the upper region and two at the lower region. The four at the upper region is shared two to left side after the front teeth and two at right side after the second front teeth, while the two at the lower region is one to the left and another one to the right side (both incisors). I’d appreciate your advice.
