Can damaged tooth be repaired?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a very badly damaged front tooth. On the top row, one of the teeth has a large section missing, exposing the gum. The back of the tooth is fine and healthy. An NHS dentist has seen it in the past but was not able to do anything about it. The tooth is getting weaker and it’s getting gradually harder and harder to eat even the softest foods. I know it’s my own fault but would really like to get it fixed and don’t know what options to look into. Many thanks for any help you can suggest. Kind regards,

What treatment is there for protruding tooth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello Dr. Tennet!! I desperately need your help! My question concerns one of my upper canine teeth. This tooth didn’t come in until I was about 16 and slowly grew. I am nearly 19 now, and I think it has pretty much halted growth; however, it sits higher in my jaw when compared to all my other teeth, giving it a ‘shorter’ appearance. I definitely don’t want braces. Can you suggest something for me? Thank you so much in advance and I really look forward to hearing from you!!

Unhappy with lower denture

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
I just got dentures. the top seems great….almost like my real teeth. The lower seems all wrong. it does not wrap around the back of the gum, the teeth are set about 1/2″ above the gum line and it presses at my ear at the back. The front is about 1/4″ thick and flares out at the back into my cheecks. It’s totally unlike my real teeth. My dentist says it’s “normal” I think they made some error. my top has been good from the start. Any advice?,

Are dentures or implants best option for missing teeth?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Dr Tennet, I have a close family relative who has already had most bottom molars removed and two at the top (I think). My cousin is now still experiencing pain and has three obvious infections where the teeth are basically beyond repairable. Obviously this is down to lack of oral health but he has pains throughout the whole of is teeth even the front set. If for example thinking about removing them all, what would be the best course of treatment to take. For example if taking them out is it wise to replace with dentures or would implants be the better option. How much would a full restoration of teeth cost? (all teeth replaced),
