Unhappy with lower denture

Q. I just got dentures. the top seems great….almost like my real teeth. The lower seems all wrong. it does not wrap around the back of the gum, the teeth are set about 1/2″ above the gum line and it presses at my ear at the back. The front is about 1/4″ thick and flares out at the back into my cheecks. It’s totally unlike my real teeth. My dentist says it’s “normal” I think they made some error. my top has been good from the start. Any advice?,
A. I would recommend a second opinion if you are not happy. However Lower dentures are usually more difficult to adapt to.Rob
