What teeth whitening system should I have?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Good evening Dr Patel, I would like to have my teeth whitened. Unfortunately I have already 2 crowns – right at the front – the big 2 teeth which means I will need to have the teeth whitened and then also will need to swap for new, colour- matching crowns. Now, one of my friends has had hers done by our dentists; they would create the trays (cost effective for future re-use) and I will wear those at home for 2 – 3 weeks or so. She had hers done there too but to me the teeth look little white-blu-ish colour, not as bright and shiny as my other’s friend’s who has had a laser whitening. Not sure if it’s their teeth or if the colour outcome can be different from trays/laser systems? so I am not sure where to have it done, whether to go for the laser or the home bleeching with the trays from my dentist; there is also such a choice of systems and companies on website so it’s hard to find what’s best; just want healthy looking, bright and shiny teeth 🙂 thanks a lot for your answer, very appreciated, Tracy,

What options are there if unsure about getting dental crown?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Hello There; I am 54 female and advised by my dentist to have Crown PORC/Lava Crown UPGRA placed on 7 & 10 teeth. Additional he advised to go ahead and add 8 & 9 to that because it will be easier to have them all addressed at the same time, for size, match, etc. I’m at a loss and worried it may make my smile worse with more problems. Any advise?,

What are my options if fearful of dentist?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
I have just had a maryland bridge fitted one week after extraction lower front tooth pincer, the tooth is much larger than before and very obvious, the tooth it is attached to has been built up the problem is the extended gum the dentist has put on is digging in and food is getting under, the dentist did not show me how to floss, I am in great discomfort with a tooth that was ok before now it is greyand bulky on the inside. Should I pay for a second opinion as my dentist is very abrupt and rude making it impossible for me to go back as I am very nervous of him anyway.,

What can be done to fix receding gums?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr. Patel, The gum line on one of my front teeth is higher than the other.Plus the tooth is misshaped to begin with. It’s like someone stuck their finger behind the tooth and slightly pushed outward causing it to be more hollow in the back, thus making the tooth stick out alittle further in front than the other front tooth and also appears rounder.Whereas the good front tooth is thicker in the back and flat in front. Yrs. ago I had surgery on the good front tooth’s gum to try to make it the same height as the recessed one, but being healthy gum it regrew the tissue that the dentist had cut away.Is there a permanent solution to this problem? Most of my teeth in the back are caps and I’m in need of some root canals I know. But the only good teeth I have are the top front ones. But I’d like THOSE to be picture perfect or all to be exact!I don’t care to sacrifice whatever is needed. Is it possible to file down the protruding front tooth even tho it’s thinner in the back and either cap or bond them all? Money is no object. My front bottom teeth gums are also starting to recede.I’m a young looking 55 but am getting long in the tooth I guess.Need suggestions!!Is there any dentist in America that you’d endorse?I really need your professional opinion!! I have a lot of work that needs done. Starting with root canals and gum restoration I’m sure. I do floss evey nite but don’t water pick. Thanks for your patience!,
