Should I Ask My Dentist For Dental Implants?

Thursday, May 16th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Butt. I was wondering if you could help me with something? A few years ago I had a bottom molar removed and the one next to it was removed a few months after. Since then I’ve had a large gap there and nothing has been suggested to fill it, my dentist has never recommended anything. I’ve been looking into dental implants because I feel like my jaw on that side is slipping slightly due to no support. Do you think I need dental implants? Or am I being a little drastic? As I said my dentist has said nothing about the gap, I thought maybe a partial denture? But I am looking for something more permanent. Can you have implants to replace two teeth? I was led to believe it was for a whole row? Thanks.

What Is The Approximate Cost To Replace Two Front Teeth Implants?

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013
Q.

I currently have 2 implants for my 2 front teeth that I had put in almost 7 years ago.

One of those teeth however has become loose.

What is the approximate cost to replace the false tooth itself or have it refitted?

The tooth itself from my own external examination reveals no damage.

Would this require a new tooth completely or can this existing tooth simply be refitted?

I am obviously looking to keep costs as low as is practicable! I have noticed that prices for this type of work has changed quite considerably in the past few years so would like an idea of how much I would need to save if I needed the whole tooth replaced. Thank you for your time, kind Regards.

Should I Get An Implant To Replace My Missing Crown?

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013
Q.

Hello, my upper left front tooth is crowned, has been for the past 7 years, i recently have had root canal on it, and in between the procedures the crown fell off as the Stump was drilled away in the procedure, I have been given a temporary post, with the intention to of having a perm post installed as my tooth below the gum line is in good condition and in tact, the issue is, that the two teeth on my lower jaw directly below the are slightly overlapped ( even though i had braces as a kid, so they must have slipped back)
This overlap is hitting the back of the crown when i bite, thus making the tooth a little loose,
I need to see what my options are as my dentist is going down the post route, where as i am wondering whether an implant would be a better option? or because of the overlap on the bottom teeth, i would need to get this addressed first? and still go with the post option.
Thank you.

My gums are receding and I am not sure whether I would be too old for denture implants?

Thursday, February 14th, 2013
Q.

I have had full dentures since I was 18 I am now 56, I suffer from a very dry mouth all the time and my gums are receeding and miss shaped. I feel ugly and old I would like to have implants but because of my gums I don’t think that would be possible. Is there anything that can be done for me. I cannot afford private treatment and I have no Social life as I am so self conscous of how I look. I have seen so many people who’s dentures drop every time they speak I am terrified of this happening to me, and without my teeth in I already look about 90. I have suffered in silence for 28 years because I thought I would be called vain or stupid, but as I have got older the feeling has got worse I just want to feel and look normal.

Friday, January 4th, 2013
Q.

I have a couple of back teeth that have previously been filled many years ago but the fillings have now come out and the teeth are quite badly decayed. What would be the cost of implants to replace my partial top dentures?

Thursday, January 3rd, 2013
Q.

I would like to have an idea of how much it would cost for implants. I have a partial top denture at the moment. I have teeth that are causing me problems at the moment as they are slack so I am keeping my options open as to what to do. I do not know if I should go for another denture, it all comes down to cost. I have seen advertisements quoting £1,400 per implant so that would be too costly for the amount of teeth that I would need.

I want to explore my implant options in the UK including the cost, quality and guarantee. Can you advise?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013
Q.

Dear Dr. Bohara,

I am based in Qatar in the Middle East. Since I had troublesome upper teeth and some were missing due to bad hygiene and dental bridges did not work for me, as they came off pretty often, hence I went to India for tooth implant. The dental surgeon there took out all my upper teeth, did some bone grafting and gave me a denture to wear as a stop gap. The implant will now take place six months from today (say in June) and then the final prosthesis in another six months. I was told that I need 8 implants. I am not too happy with this process. I want to explore what my options are in the UK, the cost , the quality, the guarantee that the teeth will last long, and the time required for your 4 implants method.
your guidance in this regard will be very much appreciated. Please also let me have the location of your clinic and how long in advance I will have to make an appointment as I will have to fly down to London for the treatment.

Can I have dental implants if I have type 1 diabetes?

Tuesday, December 11th, 2012
Q.

Hi Andrew, I have just returned from my dentist who has advised me that I have a number of loose teeth and that this is due to receding bone in my jaw. It is likely that I will lose these teeth including one which has a bridge attached. I am a 59 year old and have had type 1 diabetes for 30 yrs. My blood glucose control has not been great in the last few years but I’m working on it. Given these factors, am I likely to be suitable for implants? and what do these cost (per tooth). I have done a little research but not sure if I will be suitable and I am worried as I want the teeth replacing as soon and quickly as possible. Thanks for your time.

Is an implant suitable for filling a gap in my bottom teeth?

Thursday, December 6th, 2012
Q.

I have a gap in bottom teeth, can I get an implant or what else do you suggest I do to solve this? I have severe receding gums I just want a nice smile. I’ve been to the dentists but the plaque builds up quicker than ever. No amount of brushing fixes this. The gap in my teeth started 10 years ago and now looks as if I’m missing a tooth. The other teeth next to the gap are starting to slope and look crooked. Please advice on what I can do and how much it would cost? Thank you
