I can’t get a crown so what else can I do?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a filling in the back of my front tooth that has come loose and has started to rock. My dentist has used a sealant, but it doesn’t last more than a day. He said if the seal doesn’t last ill just have to live with it as getting a crown isn’t an alternative as it will never match my current teeth, which i agree with. My is their another option? Re-filling, bonding or something else? Thanks,

What options are available for the replacement of a dead tooth?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Q.
One of my incisors died a few years ago and the root canal was filled. It has always been a different colour to the rest of my teeth and I was wondering what options were available for replacement of the dead tooth. Many Thanks.,

Why does my fibre glass post and crown keep coming loose?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr. Moore, I have had root canal treatment on one of my front teeth, which was restored with a fibre glass post and ceramic crown. This is the second restoration and unfortunately it keeps coming loose just like the first. I have considered an implant as a last resort but really would prefer not to have what is left of the tooth extracted if I can possibly avoid it. What my own dentist seems unable to tell me is if there is an alternative post arrangment (something like you would use during an implant procedure) instead of the smooth one I have which refuses to stay in place? I must add that this has been an onging problem for the last 10 years! I have good dental health otherwise and my gums are healthy. Thank you for your advice.,

I snapped my tooth in my teens and had a replacement fitted. Is there anything possible to fix this horrible fake tooth?

Monday, August 23rd, 2010
Q.
Hi. I snapped my front tooth in my teens so had to have another built on (with a screw, if that sounds right?! sorry it was a few years ago) and it is hideous as it’s sometime grey in colour and was fitted a bit wonky. It doesn’t help I have a massive overbite and ‘fangs’ that have turned around 90 degrees. Basically, I have awful teeth! How likely is it that I could have anything fixed, within a reasonable amount of time, with this horrible fake tooth? or even teeth whitening as a short term confidence booster?,

Q.
I have a front tooth which is crooked and sticks out slightly at an angle, my dentist has suggested fitting a crown to correct this and give me a nice straight smile. How long should I expect the process to take and how long should I expect to have my temporary crown in place for.,
