Would an NHS dentist be able to remove my gold tooth and replace it with a white one?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hello, I have 2 questions: 1. About 4 years ago I had a tooth removed near the back of my mouth and replaced with a gold one. I would now like to have the gold one removed and replaced with a white one, would a NHS dentist do this for me and how much would it cost? 2. One of my front lower teeth is much further back than my other teeth, would it be possible to have it removed and the subsequent gap filled or have it pushed forward? Again, is this a private dentist matter and how much would it cost? Thanks for your time.,

Is it true that if you have a crown it’s difficult to colour match it with the rest of your teeth?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
One of my main front teeth was broken off several years ago, and I had a root canal and bonding done. The tooth is now sort of a grey color, and I went to see a dentist about possibly redoing the bonding work for cosmetic purposes(functionally the tooth is fine). He told me that he would not do bonding on that tooth because of the grey color. I thought that bonding would cover the grey, but apparently not. He told me that he would suggest a crown over the tooth. I have read a lot of information however that would seem to indicate that when crowing only one main front tooth it’s difficult to do a proper color match. Is this true? Would the crown be your suggestion as well, or are there other options that I should check into?,

Q.
hi andrew, i had root canal treatment and and crown replacement which has led to what was described as a facial nerve being danaged over 7 months ago a consultant along with another dentist has indicated that either part of the root canal treatment has been left inserted in my gum or its part of an instrument as yet they are not quite sure but may require micro surgery to remove in addition to this during a treatment session the wrong crown was pulled from my upper front left side casing trauma and severe facial sewlling to date this swelling is still evident and severe pain is constant as a result of poor treatment. can you advise. thanks,

Should my dentist be responsible for replacing the cap and the work required to fix my problem?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010
Q.
I just had my very back tooth capped last year and had gone back to the dentist for my yearly check-up and was told that I had a leaking tooth where it was just capped which indicated decay. Should the dentist be responsible for replacing the cap and the work required to fix the problem. They mention several times how well I take care of my teeth with brushing and flossing so I do not think it was my fault. Please advise, thank you!,

Can CEREC get me the white and flat crowns that I want?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Q.
Hi, I’ve had 12 teeth in my top set all crowned on 2 occasions. 1st time they were great, but I wanted a whiter colour. 2nd time they came out grey looking, and I’m not keen on the shape of some of them. I would like flat white (not translucent) , even teeth. I know they look false, but it’s what I want. Can this be done with CEREC? How long do CEREC crowns last for? Can I get the whole lot done in a short time? Thanks,
