What is the best method for correcting spaces between my central incisors and canine teeth?

Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello doctor, I wondered if you could help me? Firstly I don’t have my lateral incisor teeth (they never appeared) and secondly I have gaps between my central incisors and canine teeth (gaps evenly spread). I don’t want any gaps anymore I’m 39 and would like this resolved as quickly as possible as it is getting me down  – what would you say is the best method to get this resolved – veneers/bridge/crowns – and an approximate cost would be great. And how long the process would take for example would it be 4 weeks or 6 months? Thank you for your advice in advance, I just need a general idea.

My bite alignment is a little unequal, would a dental crown make my jaw look worse?

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012
Q.

I am 23 years old and my bite alignment is a little unequal, though it doesn’t look odd. I had an injury some months back and my front teeth had got damaged. I was planning for capping of my front teeth. But, my concern is that will the capping/crowning make my jaw bulge out as the cap is placed above the tooth, so since my upper and lower jaw is little disinclined, the capped tooth would look odd and more bulging?

My crowns look fake, it’s really getting me down so what should I do?

Friday, September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hello, I just wondered if you could help me something that has been bothering me for a while? When I was about 14 my dentist suggested I got caps for the teeth either side of my two front teeth because they were small & pointy. I’ve since been back 3 times to get my caps re-done because they looked awful, wrong colour, don’t fit, crooked, very obvious. I now am left with two horrible (quite blatantly obviously fake) looking teeth! I now have a tooth growing behind one Of my capped teeth so I am unsure of what that will do. I can’t imagine my teeth would look any worse than they already do. Is there anything I can do which won’t cost me an arm & a leg? I’m fed up of having to have the caps replaced, it’s really getting me down. Thank you in advance!

Will dental crowns fix my protruding teeth?

Friday, September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hello..My teeth are inclined outwards. Though it doesnt look bad if not for the midline diastema. Does crowning help in pushing the teeth inwards? I also want to get rid of midline diastema. Please advice..My dentist has advised me to go for crowning.Iam very much confused as I dont have the time for putting on braces.I want a good response but in a short time. If only crowning could help. Also want to know can I leave the teeth as it is only after some grinding without crowning..will dat not be ok? Thanks

Can I have veneers or crowns for all of my front teeth?

Monday, September 10th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I have one tooth at the top, front of my mouth which is fairly pushed back into my mouth. As well as this I have fillings in a few of my front teeth due to decay, however they as well as other teeth are now very stained. I do have a slight overbite which doesn’t bother me at all and all my other teeth are fine. I was just wondering would I be able to get veneers or crowns for all of my front teeth? Even though I have this one bent tooth. I’m really unhappy with my teeth and sad its come to this but so desperate to get a nice set of front teeth!!How much should I expect to pay for this type of treatment? Thank you for any advice in advance!

Should I have my removable bridge replaced with individual crowns?

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012
Q.

Hello there! I hope you are well! Okay here is the problem: I currently have a removable acrylic bridge of three teeth in my right side upper jaw, between my front and my rear teeth. It is not that comfortable and I was considering having individual crowns because I feel it will only get worse – (not sure if the crowns are called bolt in or screw in.) Could you indicate how long the surgery would take and how much I would be expected to pay for the treatment? (I wish to start saving for it as soon as possible!) Should I wait or have it done now? Would my current (NHS) dentist be likely to give a discount, as I am now 65? Any advice would be great, Thank you for your time.

Are my teeth moving back because I’m not wearing my retainer often enough?

Monday, September 3rd, 2012
Q.

Hello. I hope you are well.
I am 32 years old and I wore a brace for a year and now have a retainer on the top and bottom rows of my teeth. I have noticed that my bottom teeth are moving a little and going back to their original place – which was originally very crooked. This is really concerning me. I had white fillings to line them up so should I go back and get crowns on the bottom to stop the movement and make them look better or is it that I am not wearing the retainer often enough?
Id like to have really nice looking teeth. I had a crown on the front and whilst I was really happy, its colour appears to be less like the other teeth – which puts me back to square 1can you give me some advice please?

How much would it cost to receive: 3 crowns, 3 root fillings and to have 2 teeth extracted?

Friday, August 31st, 2012
Q.

I am looking to have replacement crowns of my upper front 3xteeth, also require bridges to fill gaps on my lower back teeth x 2 to fill gap where 2 x teeth have been extracted (maybe x4) I also need 3 xroot fillings, and would like veneers on remaining teeth visible when I smile, back teeth to be whitened. 11x teeth upper(including 3 crowns) Could you 11x teeth and 2 gaps on lower. What do you think the cost would be for all the work? Also could you recomend a good dentist in the Chehire area, WA6.
KInd Regards J
P.S I have already had a consultation, which cost me £140, after having the special xrays, also 2 x teeth removed which cost £198 per tooth, I was under the impression that this would be the cost if surgical removal was required, although one of the teeth took a while to extract 5 to 10 minutes the other came away easily(both were broken and only had a sml amount above the gum remaining) I did not require surgery, but when I went to pay was charged £396, I coudn’t question this as I had had cotton buds put in the gaps, and couldn’t speak. Please please please, let me know if this sounds ok, or should I question it? I just want nice smile, it’s really getting me sown now, I don’t have the money and am using a credit card to finance my treatment. Have as for a quote on all work that I require, but up to yet not received one; it’s been over 6 weeks since my anitial consultation and it’s already cost £396 extractions+£140 consultaion+£35 for antibiotics(week after first consultation, got an absess on the tooth which was due to be removed)£579. Am a single mum earning £12,000 a year, can have free treatment on NHS, but not the kind I need. Really effecting my confidence. (43year old)

Could my tooth be re-built in order to receive a dental crown?

Friday, August 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello there, a molar crown that I had fitted some years ago has come out and the top part of the tooth underneath has broken away, leaving the rest of the tooth flat at the gum level. My dentist does not think it possible to build up the tooth in order to fit a new crown, and my options appear to be to have the tooth removed, do nothing, or have an implant (which I cannot afford). There is no tooth behind this broken tooth. Are there any other options? Is there any way of building up the tooth so that a new crown could be fitted?
