Will dental crowns fix my protruding teeth?

Q.
Hello..My teeth are inclined outwards. Though it doesnt look bad if not for the midline diastema. Does crowning help in pushing the teeth inwards? I also want to get rid of midline diastema. Please advice..My dentist has advised me to go for crowning.Iam very much confused as I dont have the time for putting on braces.I want a good response but in a short time. If only crowning could help. Also want to know can I leave the teeth as it is only after some grinding without crowning..will dat not be ok? Thanks

Crowning may well be too aggressive and destructive of your teeth to help close the diastema. Without seeing you in person it’s impossible to say for sure , but the more ideal solution may be composite bonding, which can usually be done without damaging the teeth. Crowns will requite your teeth to be filed down very significantly.

My advice would be to visit a very experienced cosmetic dentist who has a great track record and portfolio of closing diastemas – ask to see examples of their work.

I hope that assists you.
