I have a split root on a tooth after extraction would bridging be the best option?

Friday, May 8th, 2009
Q.
I have a split root on a tooth which is second from the back of my lower jaw left hand side (already has a crown) I have been told this needs to extracted? In addition, the end tooth next to it needs a crown. After the extraction would bridging be best for the end tooth to have the bridge and cover the tooth next to it? Also could this be covered by a NHS dentist?

i am having a plate with one tooth on to cover the gap which is the best option bridges or implants

Q.
I have an abcess on the site of a previous abcess which was 40 years ago, and I was given a crown then. I have been told I have to lose the tooth (crown)and can have a bridge(I have crowns either side)or an implant, but that implants do not always ‘take’. It is the tooth on the left of my top two front teeth. I am always smiling and would hate to have a gap on show. I am having a plate with one tooth on to cover this gap for 4-6 months when I have to decide whether to have a bridge or an implant. I have had a mini stroke and my balance was affected so I do not like long stints with my head back and mouth open. Yours advice would be very welcome. Thank you in anticipation.

is there any other options for having false teeth other than dental implant or dental bridges

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I receive my dental treatment from an NHS dentist and whilst I am happy with the treatment I receive from him, he isn’t really helping me with a difficult decision I have. I have a lot of crowns already but also have a three tooth bridge on the upper right side of my mouth. The problem is that the bridge is coming loose and although my dentist has put it back in for me it has come loose again. He says that I only have two options: 1. To have a 5 tooth bridge which I feel would compromise two good natural teeth 2. To have have the bridge removed and what is left of my natural teeth underneath removed a plate with three false teeth. I am a very nervous dental patient and dread the thought of any treatment at all so implants would be out of the question for me as I couldn’t endure the treatment What I want to know is are these the only two options open to me, or would there be any other option as a private patient. I really don’t want to lose my NHS dentist as they are really hard to find but am sure there must be a better alternative for me than what I have been offered. Hoping you can help. Many thanks

I have six missing teeth can i have a bridge fitted or would I have to wear a partial denture? My dentist says the gap is too big to fit one. Also how much would six implants be? Thanks

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi I hope you can help, I have had both of my upper back teeth out due to gum disease,my gums have receded and now the next visible tooth is wobbly! I am very anxious about my missing teeth as it is and am scared I will lose the next one also. Also my upper lip seems to have gotten more lined. Can you tell me if there is a procedure to build up your gums again and if I would be suitable for a bridge or partial dentures. I am 42 and do not want things to get any worse.

my bridges has become loose and i am told i cannot have a false tooth on my plate is it correct?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi I had a bridge (for 1 tooth) on the top back right of my mouth a few years ago. The bridge was only connected to one other tooth (the furthest tooth to the right was used as the bridge as that was the only tooth avail). The bridge has become loose (maybe because only connected to one tooth even though the tooth other side could have been used to make it more stable)I now have an abscess and have been told today that I will have to have bridge removed and I cannot have a false tooth on a plate , the only option is to have an implant and have a screw in tooth which will cost me £2500. Can you tell me if this information is correct please?
