I have an elongated lower jaw and although I had orthodontic treatment as a child which corrected my bite, I hate the way I now look. My profile is awful and I was wondering if there is anything that can be done?

I had braces to straighten and reduce my overbite

Monday, October 6th, 2008
Q.
Hi, Hope you can help. Basically i had braces on for approx 14 months to straighten and reduce overbite. I have never been happy with the outcome , although they do appear straighter my main concern was the overbite. I wouldnt say its really bad but again self confidence is a issue for me . I am actually due to have these back on Next week but i am considering going away for a few months next year. Im unsure what to do as i feel maybe my dentist is rubbing his hands of me (i paid private) he now tells me i will have to get 2 teeth taken out which he should have done at the start as he did mention it then. I basically would like to know if veneers would work in this instance. it just puzzles me as to how this work if my gum structure is this way. I was even once told by a dentist that it could be my jaw and there is a procdure eg having your jaw broken. But i would not do this. In the case that it i veneers do you have a approx price and how soon i could get in to have this done? as i should be leaving to go overseas in Jan. Thank you .

6 month smiles clinic london

Saturday, September 27th, 2008
Q.
I am 28 years old and in need of orthodontic treatment to correct overcrowding of teeth in my upper jaw (due to a narrow arch). Because of my age (and the social stigma of traditional braces) I am looking for a subtle treatment that is also as quick as possible – I am not looking for a “Hollywood Smile” just the confidence to smile that I haven’t had for a decade. I do not have the budget to spend more than about £3,000. I read about the “6 month smile” treatment on www.cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk and yours is the only UK clinic listed as providing the service. I live in London – please can you recommend a clinic that offers the treatment in London? Many thanks

is there a treament for chin and nose that protrude and set back teeth

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
Q.
Do you know of a treatment for when the front teeth top and bottom are set too far back and from the profile view the chin and nose protrude. I wore a brace when I was 13/14 and think that the teeth were pulled back too far. I have seen a local surgeon who really made me feel uneasy and wouldn’t speak to me privately and since then i’ve been really depressed. At school kids used to goad me about it. I am not confident when I smile and really would like to restore that confidence.

Can crowns and veneers be placed side by side

Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
Can crowns and veneers be placed side by side and look the same in the mouth? Hi Justin, About 7 years ago my dentist put white filling on my two left incisors to cover a gap as both teeth are slightly crooked. I now want to correct this as my gum is receeding above the white filling. I have been recomended crowns but for all incisors and both canine teeth, this is very invasive so I would want to have 2 crowns for the crooked teeth and then veneers on the other 4. Can these be made to look the same in all lights? Do you think my teeth would benefit from invisalign instead as my teeth are quite healthy-I have had all wisdom teeth removed. I also have little white marks on some of my teeth, would these be fixed by whitening? Thank you.

am i too old for orthodontics

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Q.
At the age of 12 – 15 I had braces fitted to my teeth ( upper mouth only) and the results were impressive. Now at the age of 44 I feel my front teeth have rotated slightly with a very slight overlap. The teeth next to my front teeth ( again on upper mouth) have rotated even more. Can I , at my age, have this corrected and would it be beneficial? The difference is slight but I am very aware of it. I would also like to have my bottom teeth straightened. Would you advise a consultation to assess this or would you think it unlikely anything could be done. I would appreciate your advice Kind regards
