Is the Inman aligner a good option for closing spaces?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Q.

Is the Inman Aligner good for gaps (SPACES BETWEEN THE TEETH) or is it just good for pushing teeth forward and back? Thank you.

I’ve stopped wearing my retainer and my teeth have moved forward, what do you advise?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I am 20 years old, I had braces from 13-18, i wore my retainer afterwards, stopped wearing it as much a month ago and now i can feel my front teeth coming forward, I put my retainer back on, but it doesnt seem tight anymore, I dont know what to do, I havent been to my orthodonist for ages, and dont want to go back because he will have a go at me for not wearing the retainer all the time. If I continue to wear the retainer will they stop moving forward? or do i need to get help? Thanks,

Am I at risk of decalcification from lack of oral hygiene and wearing damon braces?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi

I am 30 and 10 months ago I started orthodontic treatment with damon brackets. At first I was diligent with cleaning but as the novelty wore off the cleaning became gradually worse.

I am now worried about decalcification. Although I do have them professionally cleaned about every three months.

I explained my concern to my dentist who said they looked clean and I wouldn’t know if I have any white spots until my braces are removed in about a year.

I haven’t mentioned it to my Ortho.

I thought that the white marks appeared around the brackets and so I should be able to see if I have them. On inspection in good light I can’t see anything.

My question is if I can’t see any marks now does that mean I can still prevent decalcification? or do I have to wait (a year) and see.

Thank you for your time

My dentist told me I can have braces, what should I do and how can I afford this?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello i wanted to ask i have this porblem. I have a mild spacing in my teeth which i personally get paranoid about this because this is affecting the way i am biting into something between meal time. I visted my NHS dental practice to ask for braces and my dentist referred me to a hospital to get braces. I then went to the hospital and the inspector that was checking my teeth said that braces would not do the job and i would have to consider having operation or going to a private orthodontics. I was obviously upset becasue of this and then as i went to my next check up i was told from my dentist that my teeth is not in the catergory mild and i would be able to get braces. I then was obvioulsy confused the reason why i was told that i could not get braces from one place and then I was told from another person that braces would do the job. Becasue of this i am now in a situation where i have to pay for my braces and i cannot afford it because I am a student. I desperately would like to ask help from someone to help me with my problem and becasue of this i can’t go out with my friends or smile on the camera for a family photo and this have seriously been affecting my life for the past 8 years. So please someone help me with this problem and I would really appreciate if someone replied back.

Thank you

My dentist tells me that I have very few options to close the gaps in my mouth which missing teeth have left, could you give me any suggestions?

Friday, April 8th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I have a gap in my front teeth that has bothered me for ages, but when I’ve asked my dentist about whether they could close the gap they said it would leave me with a bigger gap somewhere else as I am also missing my 2nd set of incisors, and the gap in my front teeth stop me from having gaps there. I’m only 19 so really just want to know if it would be viable to give me normal looking teeth, or wether I am just clutching at straws.

-Thanks & Kind Regards.

The same orthodontic clinic has two different suggestions for my daughter’s brace, which option would be the best?

Friday, April 8th, 2011
Q.

my daughter had a fixed brace on her upper teeth 2 months ago. After todays visit an authodentist (we seem to see a different one each time) mentioned she has an overbite and should have had another type of removal brace fitted first. It has been suggested that braces on my daughters botom teeth need to be fitted but the authodentist did admit that there was nothing wrong with her bottom set. What happens now? My daughter is not happy and to be frak i’m rather brassed off too!
