Hello Dr Hughes, I would like your assistance. I have space between my teeth plus two teeth that never moved in line so it looks like I have a huge space there.
I need to know if I would need a dental implant for this or if I can fix my teeth just with braces? Also I have this broken tooth that looks really bad. I am very scared to see a dentist and have never been for a treatment earlier. I need to know how much time I can have all this fixed and how much will cost me? Thank you.

I’ve Never Been To The Dentist And I Have A Gap Between Front Teeth. Would I Need Braces Or A Dental Implant For This?
Thursday, September 25th, 2014Hi. My Daughter’s Dental Intern Has Changed While She’s Having Orthodontic Correction. Could You Help?
Thursday, September 25th, 2014Hello Mark, could you tell me what causes relapse in orthodontically aligned teeth? How does an incorrect mid-line in the lower set affect this? Please offer your advice regarding this as my daughter is undergoing treatment in a university dental college, and the doctor has asked me to search for the answer. My daughter has had braces treatment for the last two years. The dentist who was working on her completed the course and left the college and now another intern has taken over. Any advice you can offer us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I Have A Narrow Smile And Large Front Teeth. Would Braces Help To Resolve This Problem?
Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 Hi Dr Hughes. I have really good size upper teeth but unfortunately when I smile or talk, they do not show up very well. My teeth start from high up in my gum. My front two teeth are bigger in size than the rest of my upper set of teeth. Because of this reason, I have such a narrow smile.
Can you please recommend me the best treatment for this particular problem? I do not want to end up with a life where I cannot smile. Are braces helpful or would any cosmetic surgery be required? Thanks and regards.
I Have A Two Teeth Growing At The Top Of My Gum And I Think My Teeth Have Moved. Is This Possible?
Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 Hi Dr Marcus, I am 12 years old and I think my teeth went forward or back as when I close them and put my teeth down it feels strange.
Like there is a tooth in the way. I also have 2 teeth growing on top of the gum. When I close my mouth the teeth on the left it feels like one is in the way. Please help me. How do I know if my teeth came forward and how do I get them to look like they are on my top left next to the top big teeth – the one on the left of the big tooth is behind the bottom left teeth? Is this right? Thank you.
I Have Had A Variety Of Orthodontics For Malocclusion Reasons. I Would Like Braces Again And Would Like To Know If My Gums Will Be Affected?
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014Hi Dr Hughes, I’ve undergone orthodontics for an anterior cross bite and malocclusion as my front lower teeth are hitting my uppers. My front teeth are stripped and unfortunately by the end of the treatment my 1st molars are twisted up and so I have malocclusion at my back teeth. By the time I realised the inconvenience my upper braces are removed. I got my new upper braces again after this new doc was able to settle malocclusion at back but as the twisted teeth are straightened my front malocclusion is back again. Since I have less time because of marriage. I recently had my braces removed. Now it’s been 6 months after my braces removed and I want to have braces again. How will this effect my teeth and gum problems? How will I able to correct my occlusion without stripping my teeth? I need your advice please.
Invisalign Won’t Work As My Overbite Is Too Big. Please Let Me Know If There Are Any Other Options Available?
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 Hi Dr Hughes,
I am 18 years old. When I was little I sucked my thumb and it caused a drastic overbite and I had to have surgery because the skin where my upper lip meets my gums caused a big gap in my front teeth. I hate how my teeth look, but I don’t want braces for years because I get such severe canker sores in my mouth. Is there any faster form of braces or anything that may cause less mouth pain or prone to sores. If I do have to go with braces I would at least like to know if there are any fast and reliable choices. Invisalign won’t work because my over bite is too big. Please let me know if there any other options available. Thanks!
What is the Best Treatment for Severely Misaligned Teeth?
Thursday, September 18th, 2014Hello Dr Hughes. What can I do about my situation? I have an extremely misaligned teeth, and it’s very embarrassing to smile. How much would it cost to get my misaligned teeth straightened? My teeth look like a zigzag road on both the top and the bottom, and I really think I’d need an extreme makeover to transform my smile. What am I supposed to do to achieve this? I’m 28 years old, and I’d ideally like a short-term teeth-straightening solution. The problem is, I don’t know if I can afford the cost of that kind of straightening treatment. what would you suggest the best treatment for me would be? Thanks.
I Have Paid a Lot of Money for Braces and My Teeth are Still Not Straight. What Should I Do?
Wednesday, September 10th, 2014I paid £1800.00 for a brace and my teeth are still not straight. I was told that my treatment was finished and I did everything I was told to do during the treatment. They lost a few retainers so I had to get the brace put on again, and they also asked me to change practices twice, which also cost me more as it was no longer my local practice so I had to travel further. The brace is off now and I have to wear a plastic retainer every night. The teeth were never straight when my fixed brace was moved and I don’t know what to do. I feel that this has been a waste of money. What should I do?
I Have an Overbite. How Might This be Corrected?
Tuesday, September 9th, 2014Hello Dr Gambroudes, I’m wondering if you can give me some information. I have an overbite. How long do you think it would take to be corrected, and how exactly would it be corrected? Will it be painful? On the right side of my teeth, the upper teeth are overlapping the lower ones, while the lower ones are bent inwards. I only chew food on the left side and I always feel the tip of my tongue touching my upper front teeth. The front upper teeth are extremely overlapping the lower ones, in fact they are sticking out. Can this problem be easily treated? Thank you for any advice you can give!
As A Teacher I Would Need Something Other Than Braces Treatment. Would You Recommend Tooth Trimming?
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 Hi there Dr Gambroudes,
I have front teeth which are, in my opinion, too big for my mouth. I feel that when I smile they stand out too much.
I’ve been to several dentists. Some recommended not doing anything at all while others recommended braces. I feel that having braces at my age (30) is out of the question. I’m a teacher by profession so having braces might also present obstructions in the way I speak in class. I had braces before but it seems that the adjustments weren’t thorough.
I’ve been reading up on dental procedure where teeth are trimmed to a smaller size. Do you think that would help with my problem?
Thanks.
