I had microabraision on my two front teeth about a year ago, but it didn’t work. I would appreciate you opinion on whether I should try again?

Q.
I have previously (about a year ago) had microabraision on my two front teeth which have fluorosis (white stains). It reduced the appearance of one tooth but not the other. The dentist stopped the process as my teeth were getting too sensitive. I wanted to ask whether its worth trying again. I have spoken to a couple of dentists and both have given conflicting advice – one says it may work again and the other said if it didnt work on one tooth it means the stain is too deep in the enamel. The white stain looks brighter some days especially after i have brushed my teeth. I would appreciate your honest opinion,

My incisor teeth have become very sensitive. What can I do to protect them?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
My front two incisor teeth have become very sensitive. This happened quite suddenly when I was at a cinema and eating sweets. The bottom lining of my incisor has become very sensitive, this sensitivity is exacerbated when I suck air through my teeth and I can feel the sensitivity. This occurred over the past few days and immediately I have switched to pro enamel toothpaste and I am going to make an appointment with my dentist about this. I am 20 years old, and while I have not taken great care in the past (I had 2 root canals) nowadays I am quite meticulous about my dental care, so this occurring now is quite baffling. I use an electric Oral B toothbrush and I don’t know the reason for this, has my enamel worn away due to excessive brushing or poor care taking. This sensitivity is heightened when I eat food which predominantly uses my incisors such as sandwiches or snacks. What should I do to protect my teeth?,

I had a root canal done about six weeks ago and I’m still experiencing sensitivity. Will the tooth settle or should I seek more treatment?

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010
Q.
I had my very first root canal treatment about 6 weeks ago. I am still experiencing sensitivity. When I wake up in the morning there is no pain. The pain only occurs after grinding my teeth (chewing etc.) I spoke to my dentist who was very defensive and quite rude and told me to compare it with an appendix removal! He said to give it a lot longer to settle. Will the tooth settle, or would it be better to have an extraction and an implant? Please reply – I’m desperate!,

Hi, please can you advise me on what is the best option to take. I have very sensitive teeth that are causing me great pain, they are decaying very quickly and i have to keep having fillings. I have asked my dentist to take them out but he says i’m too young (30) I would love for my teeth to be pain free and have a white smile. I have now started to fear going to the dentist as i keep having alot of painful treatment. Please help!,

I’m petrified of going to the dentist but I need to address my receding gums. I’m scared, please help!

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi Andrew, I have severe receding gums on the inner part (tongue side) of the front of my mouth causing looseness to 2 of my front bottom teeth thanks to periodontitis. I’m petrified of the dentist (thanks to a bad experience with braces in my teens) and have noticed this only over the past few days how severe this is-I can’t eat, teeth too sensitive. My confidence is being affected by this. What can I do if my teeth fall out? I’m really scared. Help!!,

I had a filling replaced with porcelain, and now it hurts? How long should this last for?

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010
Q.
I went to the dentist days ago. He did an exam and said that I had a little cavity in one of my silver fillings. He said “lets take care of the cavity, and we’ll also replace the filling with porcelin. I said ok. It’s been three days and my tooth is very sensitive to hot and cold and sometime just aches. How long can I expect this to go on for? It wasn’t even bothering me when I went for the exam, now I have problems. I’m sorry I let him do anything. I should have waited until it started to hurt….if it aint broke dont fix it. Can you tell me if it should still be hurting.,
