I had a root canal done about six weeks ago and I’m still experiencing sensitivity. Will the tooth settle or should I seek more treatment?

Q. I had my very first root canal treatment about 6 weeks ago. I am still experiencing sensitivity. When I wake up in the morning there is no pain. The pain only occurs after grinding my teeth (chewing etc.) I spoke to my dentist who was very defensive and quite rude and told me to compare it with an appendix removal! He said to give it a lot longer to settle. Will the tooth settle, or would it be better to have an extraction and an implant? Please reply – I’m desperate!,
A. If its very painful it will need looking at and maybe redoing? If its just a bit sensitivity then it might be worth waiting for it to settle
