my front left tooth is broken would a crown or veneers be appropriate and safe for me?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i had an accident when was little leaving my front left tooth and the tooth to the left of that broken. I had problems with these teeth for many years and i got root canals on them leaving them dead. The teeth also turned darker and my dentist said that as when i turned 16 i would get crowns to protect my teeth. When i went for my consultation for the crowns he said that crowns would put a strain on my teeth and cause them to fall out. I really am unhappy with the apperance of my teeth and am searching for other options, would a crown or veeners be appropriate and safe for me?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi there, i have 2 teeth (together) that have had root canal treatment ,the dentist has x rayed them and he says the root is infected and i need to have them extracted. he can only offer me a denture which i really dont want, is there any other option ?i was thinking of a bridge? the remaining tooth that the bridge would need to be attached to is a crown and the other a filled molar?can you have bridgework done in these circumstances and how much would it be ?thanks

i had a root canal treatment in march would it be advisable to go ahead now with the crown

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
I had root canal treatment in March, which should have been followed by a crown fitting. The instrument fractured whilst the root canal was being carried out. My dentist thought I should wait 3 months to see how the tooth was before paying for a crown. I haven’t any pain, only sensitivity when I drink hot fluid or floss between the tooth. Would it be advisable to go ahead now with the crown. Kind Regards

i really dont want my molar and lower back teeth extracted is any other options available

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi, just been to the dentist today and been told I need the molar at the lower back extracted, I really don’t want this and wondered if there is any other options available, I am 22 and have a large cavity in that tooth where a filling has fallen out, on the x-ray you can see the cavity is almost down to the nerve but not quiet and I have no pain, my dentist put a temporary filling in today and that seems ok but I really don’t want an extraction if at all poss. Also abit worried about what I’ve read about the tooth on the row above the removed one having problems because there’s no resistance anymore after an extraction! Any advice would be great, thank you.

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I had an accident on ll5 and porcellain crown i bit down hard and i think i trapped a nerve…..had ll5 removed and same pain went to ll4 – sensitive to hot and cold and my ear pops and clicks, after 2 x colds the symptoms i experience are a sucking sound, toxins, blocked ear and a sensitive ear and tooth…i take 2 x antibiotics and it helps but do you think root treatment would help? nothing shows on xray but the tooth cracks on biting….I am seeing a specialist but they don’t do anything either Thanks

Are Lumineers an alternative for Veneers to treat discolouration does the colour show

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
I have had root canal treatment on 2 of my front teeth and has a result there has been some discolouration. Most people say thay cant tell but i am very conscious of it. I have considered Veneers but have been put off by having tooth filed down. I have recently heard about Lumineers and wondered if this was an alternative? Would colour show through? What is cost? Many thanks
